recent zdaemon screens on survival mode. this game has come far from when it could run on a 386 processor. i even get video card lag Must be server network overload.on 1 map with over 1000+ monsters. think about it, every monster firing a projectile, creating an entity. so 1000 x 1000? it's crazy here's some screenshots. it's fun though. my name is the same as here on zdaemon.

I somehow doubt you'd be getting poor frame rate due to the number of entities in the game. All the enemies are 2D images, so the card ain't drawing extra polygons.

I have a decently terrible computer and I don't get much frame loss at all, unless large amounts of entities SPAWN at the same time.

Try playing those mega coop maps with tons of monsters in this mod:

And running through every level in wads like Invasion UAC or any other wad with plenty of monsters constantly spawning

i actually think the server packets overloaded and couldn't send the data of the entities to all of the players equally. i kept teleporting around the map, regardless at what speed i was moving. all this while being relatively still and moving very slow. meanwhile my position on the map would recover when i was standing still.

i can only deduce that it's a latency related issue. If it was a hardware related issue, then 1000x 1000= 1,000,000 (million) entities being drawn. i doubt it too since probably any decent hardware can in fact process 2D entities with ease. However every projectile has to be drawn in multiple angles to the players. so someone knowledgeable in computing would be able to better say what factors are creating this effect.

Oh snap. this mod looks like it combines Blood, duke nukem, quake, doom, heretic, and halflife. Nice. The monsters look too easy though.
