I'll be stopping off at the local Best Buy on my way to work tomorrow and picking up copies of Q4 and FEAR. I hope Q4 isn't just a doom3.5 sort of thing as it appears to be in the previews. If you have not heard of FEAR I recommend that you have a look at it. I've played the demo and this game looks very promising IMHO.

Q4 is like Q3/Q2 mix with Doom 3 graphics... Pretty cool, and the single player we saw at Quakecon looks fucking amazing. It looks to be a pretty badass game. I can't wait. ARGH!

Be sure to post Quake 4 first impressions after you have spent an hour or more with the game. Thanks.

Too bad my computer will not handle Quake 4. I can run the DOOM 3 demo on low settings while experiencing choppiness, but I doubt I will want to play Quake 4's multiplayer with 15-20fps max. It will take a while for the community to improve the game anyway, and I doubt there will be a community such as this on Quake 4 for a very long time. I won't miss out on too much.

Here is my computer specs by the way: 2.2GHz, 512MB RAM, GeForce FX 5200. I suppose I can upgrade to 1GB RAM and get one of those $400+ video cards to make the game run decent enough on here, but I doubt spending all that money on one game is worth it.

ABSOFUCKINLUTELY I ordered mine on the 2nd. paid for next day air shipping. amazon says it hasn't shipped yet. it's the 19th and they still say I should get it on the 19th.
