Anyone remember erols or enter.net? Or how about GXmod in general? I was playing yesterday and remembered some of the old servers and how elevators used to break since the map would never be restarted in GXmod.

That's how I started playing Q2, 10 years ago. I would watch the gxmod servers (proxy something..) and was amazed at how good the players were. That and watching the Xeno clan; now they are still kicking my ass.

what's up py? yeah proxima was maxior's server, most would know him as DWxsn4!L though.

assassins, enter.net, gamesvelocity, etc... fun servers!

I remember FFA, custom maps DM, and CTF servers, I think.. in addition to GXmod I mean. Maybe another 1 or 2 as well.

I only played FFA at enter.net

I'm sure some of you guys remember the DpG guys from enter, they were good guys for the most part.

I remember exploiting NYGANG's rcon, setting cheats to 1, map q2dm8, then raping every one with infinite chain and bfg. When I would get bored I would then kickserver. They would keep changing the rcon(once I remember they changed it to 'hackersdie' lol) and I would keep exploiting it with the $ macros exploit

They should have been running a newer version of q2a or something which i'm sure would have stopped it in 2002ish. That trick was only legit for a few months.

I remember MSN Hosted people to make Quake 2 games for anyone to join...If there was a spot to start a game

Pretty much got me into Quake 2 personally, too bad its not there anymore
