Would you consider joining the Quake2World project? We would love to have q2dm*.bsp ported to this game. You'd be joining a rounded team of about 10 individuals from developers to texture artists. You'd be porting maps to an engine that's far more capable than Quake2, and far more accessible than QuakeLive. Per-pixel lighting (dot-3 bump map + parallax map), hardware-based dynamic light sources, weather effects, Quake3-style texture animations, blended terrain, etc.. are all at your disposal.
