lmfao well you havent gotten kicked lately ive been trying to get 1NY to loosen up, but he still thinks everybody is hacking (he thought i was until i played at his place on his computer and did better)

and there actually was a second NYGANG server for a little while, was NYGANG WAREHOUSE.. just a placeholder until i figured out freeze tag.. but i was to lazy so get X'd out the 2nd server

Yeah - I noticed that a bit too.  I just pulled it off my Favs since it's got NOCHEAT required and I can't get that damed thing running right to save my ass.  However, I have successfully installed ProCheat - maybe it's scanning my drive and won't let me overwrite a file . . .  It might be easier to simply set the player limit to 1 and then nobody can cheat someone else . . . we can all take turns loggin on to a "cheat free, bot free, server" in peace . . . just thinin' the heard eh?

Maybe I need to flip the system bit on my ProCheat executable?

I think that ProCheat has a patch out for that now . . .

I feel nostalgic for a different time, back when this game was hot and there were (it seemed) hundreds of hundreds of servers.

Yeah, good ol' days.  But even back then, there was still xquake: Single-player maps only, weapons stay OFF.  (Vanilla was created as a stand-in for xquake when xquake began experiencing debilitating lag problems.)

Not all players feel "stranded" on big maps.  Some of us degenerate bastards actually enjoy them.

I love big, huge maps.  It's just that I don't like big, huge, wide open maps!

Hehe you two - Big maps.  It's not the size, it's what you do with it!

What I mean to say is that I hate to search for the game.  I have had a few times when I can't even find the other players.  Call me lazy, but I need player density to have fun - 50 players on a huge map or 5 on a tiny one play the same to me.   4 on a huge one just plain hurts - I guess some folks like the stealth, but I'm not that cerebral . . .  All those years playing the basic 8  burned into my mind . . .

there are some people that hack on there still.. i ran into one today.. his rail never missed, nor did his chain or SSG.  He was even using the shotgun for a while.  I understand peopel have good aim.. but this was kinda ridiculous.  plus he always seemed to know where I was before I came around the corner.  The only time I was able to kill this guy was when I snuck up on him, or died/almost died in the process.  His movement was totally n00b, that's what made it so fishy.  Also using a lame alias like camp2shoes, i belive it was, didn't help teh cause.  He'd win over me 50 to 47, so I figured he was just tryng to taunt me instead of trying to win full out.  After 2 games of them I grew bored and left.

But if he was hacking or not.. I really can't prove it, and like I've been saying lately.. It's just a game, and if peopel want to cheat.. it just makes it more fun for me cause I get a challange out of it.  It's more fun to fight someone hacking then to fight a n00b.

and habib.. afaik NoCheat isnt required for NYGANG EDGE... it was for about a week until i talked him out of it because nobody was joining (i could be wrong, as i use a nocheat client so wouldnt notice)
