Help with Low FPS

Alrighty, Well on average my fps is between 30 - 80, but most the time near 30.

I have and HP G60 Laptop.
My specs are:

Pentium(R) Dual- Core CPU   t4200 @ 2.00GHZ
3002mb RAM


Graphics

Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family
1309Mb Vid Memory
Display 1366X738(32bit(60hz)

now with that information are there any tricks, or software updates, or what not that will help me up my fps in game?

There are some optional things you can turn off like shadows and dynamic lighting that may help you get a more steady average fps

set gl_shadows "0"
set gl_dynamic "0"

If you don't mind the game looking kindy crappy, picmip works too:

set gl_picmip 1  (higher values look shittier as you go that way but may produce higher fps)


put those in your config or enter them in console then follow up with vid_restart, to test it out.

i have to have dynamic to 0, or whenever im around rockets, chaingun, and what not i lag to a near stand still. so ive always used that.

i'll try the others.
i hate to have it look crappy, but if it helps my skill at all would have to deal for now

Picking out the right pak can help too. If you get a minimalistic one you can crank up that mip value mentioned before bc it doesn't affect the texture to negatively.

she uses the kicker :/ which honestly isnt the best for performance imo...

jehar has a bunch of high res textures in it by default and just stupid stuff like that

They can be removed very simply, and most people can run the engine with smooth framerates these days. If the hi-res textures are an issue, they can be deleted by deleting the /textures directory.
