Need Help Please

Until the day before yesterday all was well. Quake 2 was lagged but it worked. All of the sudden my anti cheat and R1gl  stopped working under Vista Ultimate 32 bit. At first I could only play in a window in software mode. I figured it was time to upgrade to Windows 7 Ultimate since I couldn't play Quake 2 anymore but after playing with it a while I was able to get it all to work except when I try to join the vanilla server I get kicked because of the R1gl auto config. doesn't load. could someone Please tell me how to create an auto config file and does it go in the main Quake 2 Folder or the baseq2 folder.  Also does the anti cheat go in the same directory? I'd appreciate a link to a guide or a tutorial .  I'm using the retail disk and I've never encountered this problem in all my years of playing Quake 2.

make sure you download r1q2 + anticheat (two seperate files) and extract all of it to your quake2 directory,
you can open a new file in notepad or wordpad and save it as a .txt and just rename it to autoexec.cfg and make sure you dont have *hide known file-type extensions*set to "on" in your OS settings( open my computer>tools>folder options>view> and make sure the box called 'hide extensions for known filetypes" is NOT checked.

also,the autoexec goes in baseq2 folder, if thats what you mean by auto config file 

if you mean that it says it cant load r1gl.cfg then dont worry,thats just a custom config you can create for R1GL specific settings only,which would load while using r1gl.

Thanks,  I have been using the anticheat module and R1GL for some time now It's just the last few days I've been having problems.  I miss the old days when all you had to do was start gamespy 3d and you'd here "Lets Get On With The Killing" and that was that. Was cheating that bad where now you have to jump through flaming  hoops to play a few deathmatch maps. Are there any other servers where a guy can get his frag on these days? Well there is still UT3 I guess.  Are there any Chaos Deathmatch servers or maybe lithium ? How about lithium with the Ruins , now that use to be fun. Could some one maybe post  the file I need PLEASE?

We don't force anticheat by default.  Your particular subnet (70.126.*.*) is one of the few dozen where AC is explicitly forced due to someone who was cheating on that subnet.

So yes, you're being inconvenienced because one of your xxxxxxxxxx.res.rr.com neighbors was cheating.

Could some one maybe post  the file I need PLEASE?

As others have stated, if you're referring to the "can't load r1gl.cfg" message, it's harmless, and irrelevant to the situation at hand.

As far as I can tell from the logs, you're being kicked for the reason I explained in response to your private message.

I will respond again in PM in case my first explanation was unclear.
