Hey , I keep wondering how do you get the weapon, ammo pack and some various ammo on this map.. Its a stock jail4 map in vanilla. Its those ones in the lava.

That is a single player secret. There is an invulnerability inside one of the jailcells and there is a quad inside that lava pit. After you swim through the tunnel you can use the invul to rush to the end and should have just enough time to dive in.

I never for the life of my understood why they wanted you to exchange an invul for a quad, but that's what you are supposed to do.


I believe that both items have been changed into ammo packs in vanilla via overrides and if the overrides are included in the giant TS map pack, then running it yourself using r1q2 will change them into ammo packs as well.

The mod in use on vanilla/dm/mutant allows dynamic override of any map item spawns (by type) based on cvars, so for simple substitutions no .override is needed.

Wallfly configures the item remapping cvars before the map changes.  In particular, when powerups are disabled, this allows quad and invuln to be substituted with other items, rather than disappear completely.

The defaults on vanilla are:

03:25:39 wallfly: "pu_off/invul" => item_pack
03:25:39 wallfly: "pu_off/quad" => weapon_railgun
03:25:39 wallfly: "pu_on/invul" => item_invulnerability
03:25:39 wallfly: "pu_on/quad" => item_quad


(Yeah, in jail4 i think we'd need a .override rather than simple remappings to make those lava items useful.)
