i regret getting this intel back in febuary
i wish i had known more

i was gunna go with xfx which apparntly has a much bigger overlocking potential
but maybe i wont oc at all, i have no experince doing that at all lol so i dont want to screw up my new and expencive parts
im a computer enthusiast at heart, but just never had the money to get anywhere with it yet

Hey Xlife, there is no reason to regret your purchase.  I grew tired of the whole Ocing thing as well.  My water cooling is primarily for keeping noise levels down as my computer shares space with my stereo/Home theater rig and I like it as quiet as possible when relaxing to that hobby.  If you would like to see my current PC you may look at this thread: http://tastyspleen.net/quake/forums/index.php?topic=976.0  Oh, I think you are going too crazy with the RAM in your system.  I think you should cut it down to 2 gigs and get much higher quality ram with very low latency timings.

purhapes i am going a big crazy with it. it shall be cut down to 2gb what kind of ram would you suggest?

reason i was gunna get water was for the overlocking
but i may just use it now to keep it quite and to keep it a bit cooler then fans
i want my computer to be running as smooth as possible at all times

That all depends on which processor you go with and how much are you willing to delegate for it?

About the nVidia, PNY uses cheap parts, but the XFX are good, you should have no problems with them.

chaintech also uses crap for parts
my 4600 that i have atm, the fans on it burnt out 3 times
and kept ordering them from chaintech :p ended up buying a diff brand in the end
and has lasted 5 months already lol

Juist saw today that the amd athlon 64x2 dual-core 3800+ is not that much.Ive been an Intell guy for awhile now.Thinking of upgrading.Might as well since Im replacing my hd anyways.The celron  has served me well.But stuffs getting cheaper so I might just see what the AMD can do for me.But that will be seperate I think maybe ill just build another one and dedicate the other puter to other stuff.Like bussiness.

Also stay away from Mad Dog, I got one of there GeForce MX4000 PCI cards for my old 2.7Ghz celeron system, the fan started making loud noises then died.  At least the card still works, for now ^_^;

I use it only for video and emulaters on my TV, so nothing too taxing on it.

Have you thought about running a distributed computing program on one, they don't affect normal PC operation.  Most of the time your CPU is just sitting idle anyway.
