Can't tell for sure.  It's lucky if the geographic info for the IP is even accurate to within 50 miles.  Some of his IPs say "West Monroe", some say "Tupper Lake", some say "Central Square".

OK.  I think there would have been less room for misunderstanding if you'd said something more like: "ToRcH, the evidence that Judo has been using spiked models will probably lead to shit talk here and we don't need to get involved in that. But we are going to need to take action to resolve this problem with Judo."

Instead, by not acknowledging the existence of the problem with Judo, you seem to be brushing it off.

Well no. The shame site is based on player IP, and it just happens to show the player alias that a certain IP used when connecting. I could go on as your name and hack it up and it wouldn't matter since it wouldn't show up unless someone searched my IP.

The one above that Vital posted is easily found on the ac shame site by running Razor's IP through it.

The ones for molson/judo were found by running his 24.59.x.x IP addresses through the utility. He could have aliased as something else and it wouldn't be so damning, and it was just good fortune for us that Vital got lippy and told me to find anyone with an RB tag on the ac shame list right after molson was dumb enough to get caught tagged up.

We aren't posting links to the page itself, because the address to the ac shame site for each player entry includes the IP address and it's generally frowned upon to hand out people's current IP address to the whole web.


There are logs of molson/judo on various IP addresses (quadz has them for every connect to every server on ts, and I have my own list for the IRTDM servers) and after taking them and running them through the ac shame site, I was able to find a variety of occasions where he used spikes or a wallhack and narrow them down to make sure that it wasn't the maybe 2 other players who play from that ISP.

I also keep a list that I can search for every alias that someone uses from a given IP on my servers so I can cross check that it couldn't have been another person, or catch someone who has changed ISP but not alias.

For someone to try to fake it, like Vital tried to have Razor do to smear my name, they would have to live in the same area, use the same ISP, use the same alias, and play on the same servers and then use hacks, all of this after caring enough to do so and actually playing quake 2, which narrows the field of possible spoofers down dramatically.

If there's any question, a simple location check and a check of the ISP compared to the long history of IP addresses coupled with the player name they connected from will show wether it is or isn't the player in question.

Soo.. If I had a history of having IP addresses from Sweden (I'm in california) and I used the swedish telia broadband ISP (I use time warner) and I had any history at all of using hax in q2, then that ac shame page that vital posted would look suspicious on me. As is, it just reminds us that razor has plenty of hax and will keep trying to use them on tastyspleen for a variety of reasons, and he will do it under other people's aliases to try to throw them under the bus as well.

okay, thats decent info, thanks for clearing that up for me. i just don't know where i even stand in q2 anymore. rb has been turned into a dog shit clan because of all this. our names ruined, i dont even wann go play anymore cause i dont wanna hear all the bs =\. i was starting to like tourney, now i really doubt it. i just don't know =(((

just keep playing and have fun. You're quite a bit better than the average player at q2, and you should keep playin it if it's fun for you.

we've seen multiple startup clans go this way in the past year and the best thing it seems is for their members to just move forward and continue to enjoy themselves at q2 and ignore the bs. some stopped tagging with whatever and others moved on to try to start other clans.

You can ask crow and skillshot how that goes, as they've been in the same situation recently as certain players hacked and denied it and ruined the rep of the clans they were playing for.

I'd hate to see you go over mismanagement that isn't your fault and the actions of others that shouldn't reflect poorly on you, when you've done nothing but be a good sport and play a game.
