No AllSeeingEye no more, what do I use now?

Is gamespy the only game server browser out worth a f*** anymore? I was using the Yahoo allseeingeye  even after it shut down, it would still work as a browser for my mods and ips I had configured, but I reinstalled my Win XP and forgot, like a dumb ass, to copy and save that dang folder, and trying to reinstall it does not work. I have the Quake Server Browser, but its not user friendly, but it does work, even shows players name in games and ping, but that's it. Any tips?

Xfire works. You can add favorite servers and see your buddies favorites, track them, etc.
Why does the ASE install fail, no pingers or no updates?

Yeah, something about no server found or something like that, cant remember, and now I cant even find what I did with the dang Exe file for it so I ordered gamespy arcade, was only 10 bucks for a year not to much for what all ya get I dont guess!

From what I've heard the most popular options now are Xfire and gamespy. Gamespy retained a lot of it's old configurable features so you can add searches for just about anything.


All Seeing Eye not installing sounds like netmeeting. The old free video chat that came with either 95plus or 98se. They discontinued it but you can just copy the folder and it still works in xp. (never tried in vista or 7)

Between YIM, Xfire, Skype, teamspeak... (etc) it's now been replaced with free software so most people have probably just let it die off.

If ASE installs and runs but complains that it can't connect to a scanner (do you want to switch to another one? Just say no.) Then it's OK to run it, you simply won't be able to automatically create a list of servers. I use it all the time that way. You have to manually add the servers to your favorites lists. You also won't have buddy tracking but I never needed it much myself. I didn't know GS had their master servers back up again. What is the IP?
