Lo all.

I'm new on this server, but old to the game. I'm from Norway and I've been playing Freeze Tag on UK servers since 2000, but sadly players are now leaving the mod :-(.

A question: Do you regulars enjoy and accept the spawn-pad camping fu***rs that finish a 30 frags map-win with "FU sad cu*ts, you can all suck my di*k" ... and then go on about how they owned that map?

TBH I can't stand it and get very pissed about it and make sure to tell the gaylord in question how I feel about it. He will then rant on about how it's a part of the game and blah blah blah blah ... just to defend his sad gameplay-destroying playstyle.

IMHO it's far from part of the game and it ruins it for alot of players. I just can't see what satisfaction some get from doing this. Running around, getting your moves/jumps right and getting that rail shot up Mr. GoodPlayer's ass is in my opinion what the game is about ... not crouching by a spawn pad, drooling with an itchy trigger finger.

Now if I were admin (

) I would warn, and then kick their dumb asses off the server for a couple of hours ... OR I would get a hold of the spawn protection that runs on some other servers, like Fusters in the UK: http://www.clan-eat.co.uk.

It will give a newly spawned player a 3 seconds invul. but will be disabled the moment a player gets a weapon.

Fuster, the admin, is very active and I'm sure he would share his config with other admins.

An idea to atleast be considered?

Hi opTiCal,

I think it's safe to say none of the admins *likes* spawn campers.

But our general policy is to only kick/ban cheaters or possibly extremely obnoxious spammers....

We are looking into a spawn-protect mod.

opTiCal, I agree totally with you on the spawn camps. Camping elsewhere is OK for most people (when I say OK, I mean they take great pleasure in offing the offending camper), but spawn camps are the worst.

heheh the term "Gaylord". I've been hearing it lately quite a bit on "Da Ali G Show" on HBO. Funny.

I think its pretty universally hated.

Something that irritates me that I am not sure other people take the same way....

is when someone wins and says LOL.
to me that seems to be about the same as saying OWNED or FAGS or something similar.

its pretty lame..but i get such satisfaction killing them....

and i can't even remember the last time i saw a spawn camper win a game.
...also..the initial spawn protection is good....but are you talking about WHENEVER someone uses a spawn.....?? cuz its fun running through a teleporter when someone is chasing you and quickly turning around and killing them when they appear....

it may be cheap as hell but its fun :p

Would just like to add that this post was written BEFORE the server got the spawn protection it has today.

At that time, if a map had 5 spawn points, there would be a sob with a rail at 4 of them.

Things are much better now
