Can't use anything other than r1q2 or quake.exe

Would love to use aprq2 for avi export. 

I get the error it can't set video mode,  tried setting gl_mode in command line, custom size etc..
software works fine.

any other engine I use, xpq2, egl, and a few other high end ones all do the same thing, or tell me something about not finding hardware acel pixel formats to match my system.   Havn't tried que2,  but don't think it has avi exporting.

intel g41 express chipset, using 256meg of my 2gig ram
pentium dual core e5200 @ 2.5GHz

Probably just going to upgrade the video after xmas,  see what 16x PCI is all about.
Start playing a newer game here and there (NOT WOW).

r1ch, how's the avi eport code coming along?

hmm, don't know if you're using an autoexec.cfg but there could be some specific r1q2 stuff in there that isn't recognised by aprq2 or simply conflicts... 
For instance IIRC in aprq2 if you want to set a custom vid size you have to set gl_mode -1
If nothing seems to help maybe deleting the config file (aprconfig.cfg) might reset some values, or you could even move your other cfg's to another place to be sure it's nothing else.
