Author Topic: I'm getting a new car (Read 7030 times)

I've had the same ol' truck, '93 Dodge Dakota, now for the past 10+ years, and I'm finally gonna get something new now that I've had a job for a while now and can consider such things.

I'm getting an '06 Mini Cooper S. Anybody here own one, or know someone personally that does and have opinions about it? Mines already on order, and I'm really excited about getting it. Unfortunately I won't receive it till like the 2nd or 3rd week of November, so the wait will suck.

Will be my first stick shift car (6 speed), and my first Front-wheel drive car as well. The 2 times I took one out on a test drive, it was a lot of fun zipping around town. Can't wait to get mine and actually get it out on the open road. Everyone that owns one seems to rave on and on about how much fun they are to drive.

You're gonna love to drive it -- and hate to pay for gas since it takes premium only (especially right now at $3+ per gallon). Seriously, I turned away from buying one at the last second for economic reasons. But they sure are fun to drive!

You're a brave, brave soul Mr. Punk_FAS. I hope you are as nimble and quick on the road as you are in Q2. With all of those "soccer moms" out there driving those monstrosities of Excursions, Explorers, Navigators et.al. I sure as hell would not want to be in one of those little doodads. They do look like a lot of fun to drive, however. I wish you the best of luck with that.

No more renting cars for long excursions!!!

Actually, you can break it in on a trip down to visit us. We were gonna have a LAN in the second or third week of November.

Congrats, i have loved them since they came out. Wish i could afford one.

I'd love to come visit again, will certainly do my best to get down there if you have another LAN. And if I have my car by then, you can pretty much consider it a done deal =) I'm just looking for excuses to take it on some road trips, so that would be a perfect one =) Hope I have it by then.
