Sweet Georgia Brown was pretty good. I think it's made by Sweetwater Brewery here in GA, the same guys that make Sweetwater 420 pale ale. Actually, I dunno if they make anymore, it's no longer on tap at the bar I use to be a regular at. Anyways, it was pretty similar to Newcastle, just sweeter and little more cloudy.

I've had 2 of the last 3, yeah they're good deft. I like pretty much ALL dark beer, even black lager by sam adams but I don't like stouts really. The darker it is the colder I like it though. I've had many random brown ales too that I like... but I honestly prefer newcastle over them all practically, lol. Plus, the places that I regularly purchase beer at don't have a huge selection so it smothers the competition of the readily available, being that you can get it at most gas stations.

99% of the time I drink any beer I can honestly say 'wow, I wish this was a newcastle..' hence why I made this thread. Not to rip off bud light commercials, but I've never encountered a beer with more 'drinkability' than newcastle, to me.

If I recall correctly, Rogue is based out of Portland Oregon. Ever had Rogue Chocolate Stout? I shat the color of midnight!

honestly its good, but nothing spectacular. Ive had plenty of beer that tasted similar to this, I would give it an 8.3/10!

Well, in the US, a pint comes out to 16 ounces, which would be what we commonly call a "tall boy can". Usually stores don't sell singles in 16 ounces, usually it's 22 ounces (a "deuce-deuce"), and then 40 ounce bottles (spillin' some fowtee on da curb fo' muh dead homiez, stereotypical ethnic ghetto-style individual).

I've seen the 22 ounce bottles in stores, and in GA it's around 2 dollars.

In a bar, it really depends on WHERE you go. There aren't that many bars that would have it on tap unless its one of those that has an extensive collection of beers. At the bar I used to go to, the crappy US domestic beers on tap were anywhere from 2.50 to 4 bucks for a pint. The better domestics (sam adams and microbrews) were 4 to 6 bucks for a pint. The imports (which I usually drank) were anywhere from 5 to 9 bucks for a pint. I'd always tip a buck per beer too. So drinking in that place got to be expensive. I'd usually drop anywhere from 50 to 80 bucks just dropping by for a few beers with my friends while watching the game and telling dirty jokes.

I pay about 6-7 bucks for a schooner of newcastle at the bar. Shit in restaurants and bars is expensive here tho..

(a schooner being somewhere in the 20-25 fl oz range)

From the liquor store tho, it's about $2.45(usd) for the 22oz, which is about the same as a 40oz of Budweiser or some domestic lager.

sounds a fair bit cheaper then, especially that $15 for a 12 pack, that's what like £8.. we pay £8 for a 8-10 pack of generic beer.. on offer.. lol.
