For a short time the TastyCast will be down, but Jehar is working hard to get it back up asap.

In the mean time we at the TastyCast are planning some new events. One of those events we hope to start is community music night. We know you are out there and we want to broadcast your work!

All you have to do is send us your mp3, screen name, and name of your song to jehar@tastyspleen.net or jehar42@gmail.com

Also when the TastyCast is back up and running this event will run on Friday nights.

but here are some older tracks...

This is my first multitrack recording, in 1987. I hadn't bought a 4-track yet, so this is two tape decks linked together, with some funky adapters to splice the audio cables such that I could overlay a new instrument while recording from one tape deck to the other.

This somewhat languid and moody track was recorded around 1996 by our band Jumbo Skill Crane. I still like that band name.

I'm playing guitar, bass is Kirk, drums is Hamilton. Recorded on a 4-track.

This track was created on a Korg Electribe sampling rhythm composer, in 2002.
Apart from the drum and percussion samples, the rest is constructed entirely from samples taken from the Mystery Science Theatre 3000 episode featuring the movie Manos: The Hands of Fate.

Most of the songs I've recorded start out as rough drafts just to get the idea down on tape, then I add some more tracks, and mix it, and... that's all I end up with is that rough draft. This track is one of those, a song I had written some guitar parts for and called it "Descender", then added bass and drums... And my friend Keith came over and improvised the vocals on the spot.
Recorded using Sony ACID Pro in 2002 (or whatever the software was called at the time)

This was an attempt at recording a reasonable quality demo track in my home studio, for our band at the time Six Mile Cross. In this track I'm playing bass, and the guitar solo. Vocals are Keith, backing vocals are Stephanie, rhythm guitar are Anders and Sam. Hamilton plays the drums (on my electronic drumkit, which was a challenge because he is used to a real drumkit.)

This was a joke remix I made cut together from a recording in the practice room of a short-lived and unnamed band my wife and I were trying to form in 2004. We were jamming on some kooky bass riff, recorded with my cheap digital camera. MC'd by Arnold.

Good News! The TastyCast is up and running! Starting this coming Friday August 28 at 7 p.m. Eastern will be the first ever Community Music Night!

I want to thank all those that submitted work! Really, everyones songs were just awesome! Lidz, I'm really glad you gave us that song, it rocks! Quadz, dude don't ever stop! Focalor, your hardcore! Kami, you're really good at atmosphere. All of the music was awesome and I want to do this again! So if you have some tunes you've done up yourself or with others, we want to hear them!
