He should not be bothered on the servers, period. i dont think it should even be brought up, besides a casual remark that someone posted a demo. All that will do is start a flame war on the server. Everyone has followed the proper rules so far. People posted demos and lots of people gave opinions and facts. We all learned a little just in sharing information.

He has been watched for quite some time and nothing has come of it yet. Most that are guilty can't measure up under that kind of pressure.

People should post demos they are concerned about. We all learn from it in one way or another. A posted demo and talk about the demo is not a judgement of guilt. It is the healthy process of the community attempting to keep itself clean.

Unfortunately it's not so easy to get good evidence of wh's. Also that silly 3rd-person config doesn't make it any easier. But okay, here are three more demos. (Recorded a few months ago (October) and made shorter by cutting out one or two boring parts.)
I wanted to describe some things that happen in the demos, but on second thought it's best to draw your own conclusions. I doubt I can get better 'evidence' than this, so if most of you think I got it all wrong I'll just drop it here.

Appears to be all map knowledge and sound based play to me.

Well I hope you're right. But you probably didn't try to watch it with a hack enabled. For example how would you explain that moment in dm8.dm2 where he shoots through the gap above the conveyer-belt and the hit with the rail just before the 12th frag? Sound cues... Yeah I noticed some barely audible steps just before the 6th frag, but only after I watched it the second time.
Pay attention to some of the shots at the narrow passages in dm3.dm2 just before he tries to make the long jump to the SSG and the moment where he fires at the ladder that leads to the RL, just as he walks through the shard corridor. K9 was just spawned there. In paradm4 there is a moment after the 6th frag with an elevator that's painfully obvious just to name one.
Btw there wasn't done any real recamming or editing, only 1st person view was retrieved. But I'm beginning to see there's no point in trying to convince any of you and that's okay, I'll get over it.

i watched them all a third time. i stand by my original opinion. i do not have wh's to view through. i understand how that can help you, however that also taints your view. While watchign through a wh, you think you are seeing him react to what you are seeing, when he is probably reacting to a sound, or the way people move as a gereral rule around specific maps and under specific conditions.

True. It can taint your view but to be able to really judge experienced players I think you need to look at it without and with hack.
The reason that most people cry cheat on a server is that they are oblivious of how things work. But... maybe the opposite is also true and I'm just seeing things because I know what to look for

What's with the dm8 demo where at frag #9, he's near the machinegun on third level, then warps to closer to the YA. Did you stop the demo then start it over again, or can he teleport? =)

i would bann his azz in a heartbeat.

i hate haxors. you can pick suspect demos to death. meanwhile those who know how to cheat well just keep right on slipping buy. i have ran into just as many cheators on TS servers as AW's well maybe a few more on our servers

First of all, I will say this.. I didn't watch any of these demos..

The real issue at hand is simple.

Whether or not he is confirmed a "hacker" or not, it will not make him go away. It's too simple to just get a new IP and Alias. Unfortunately some of you develop quite a hard on too easily when you suspect someone is cheating. However the player at hand may have just simply out played you. Even if he is cheating, it won't necessarly make them stop, and it won't automaticly make them have absolutely no skill at all. People tend to be curious as well. for all we know, he used a wallhack/aimbot this one time only, then again, it could be a Q2 rituital for him.

Everytime I've played against A2G he's been a solid player. He'll take some, I'll take some, not one of us has ever really dominated one another. As for the LAN statement, I could easily hack online, but play legit on LAN, who would really know otherwise except myself, unless I made it obvious. This is why I find this sort of discussion redundant, it's a never ending cycle of repetitive nonsense. But I suppose if it keeps the commuinity together...

yeah simply looking the other way when you see something wrong is a way of dealing with it. If someone is caught cheating it won't necessarily make them stop but sometimes a simple warning or a few kicks could be enough to make people think about what they are doing. I don't remember saying he has no skill or needs to get banned, I just want a fair game if possible and if any of you has a problem with that then do me a favour and ignore the redundant topics.

I care about these servers and their active players and the only times I post here is when i've got some map-related news or in this case suspect a cheat. I don't come here to meet people who say they like to play quake, for that I connect to servers and actually play the game with them.

Once there's no more doubt you have been cheating most players will avoid you as a leper. Unless a busted cheater is a total numskull he will at least think about his actions.
The only thing that's rather pointless is to discuss this sorta thing with people who don't even watch demos because they're convinced it don't matter in the end.
