The Story of Your Internet Name

I thought that it would be neat for the players here to post the story about their alias. Post such things as previous aliases, and the whole morphology of your alias. It doesn't matter how stupid or ridiculous it is, it's always fun to hear how somebody's alias came around!

I had read a little of the Piers Anthony book On a Pale Horse. I had seen the titles of all the books in his septilogy, On a Pale Horse, With a Tangled Skein, Bearing an Hourglass, Weilding a Red Sword, Being a Green Mother, For Love of Evil, and And Eternity. I liked dark themes, and thought that the 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 7th title looked like they might have an interesting name hidden in them. On a Pale Horse was out because I was pretty sure I would already find names like Reaper, GrimReaper, etc. For Love of Evil was out because I do not love evil. Eventually, I took my alias straight from the title of the final book and called myself "And Eternity". However, people kept saying "someody and eternity", leaving out the "And". So I shortened my alias to just "Eternity".

Anthony is one of my favorites. Have you gotten much into the Xanth series? Pure, brilliant fun.

I was using Tejing for MUDs (what I played mostly when I was 12 or so), Two Towers MUD and all that. Then one of my friends went and made a character with the same name when my character lapsed. So, needed something new. Bellar was it for a little while, but finally settled on Jehar. No real reason behind it, just sounded neet. No connection to anything islamic or disney-islamic.

I JUST finished Xanth novel number 32 (2 to the 5th) about 30 minutes ago

Spell for Chameleon was the first long book I ever read, age 13.  Love the series.

Also enjoyed the Incarnations of immortality

Oops, didn't know another thread on this topic existed . I only looked for it in the /dev/Random and Entropy Pool boards. Ahhh, well...a moderator can merge the threads.




I quit reading Piers Anthony--never really liked his style. However, I love J. R. R. Tolkein and have read probably every scrap of literature related to him that has come on the market--the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, The Children of Hurin, ....
