Video shuts off in mid game
«

I have the occasional video lockup, no big deal. But today I had my video drop out 5 or 6 times while playing.
It came back once, the other times I had to remember the keystrokes to exit q2.
When I exit q2, my video returns.
My monitor even comes up with the message no signal and that it will turn off in 5 seconds.
I can still hear all the action, but my screen is black. I have not had this happen before using any other programs.
Sound like its a issue with my video card, but I thought I would ask for input.

Sounds like video card on the blink - or a loose cable maybe.
Reseat card in motherboard and reinstall drivers. Not a lot else you can do.

Seems like loose cable but make sure you are using a compatible resolution and scan rates for your monitor. Using the wrong rates can make the monitor turn off the video input (no signal) in order to save itself from damaging frequencies. If you run Q2 in full screen it may be possible to cause your system to behave this way. The cut-off can be immediate or it can take time for the monitor to react. Video card lockup is another possibility. Killing Q2 and resuming Windows control of the video mode can reset it. I'll be it's an ATI.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
