xrazy files?

where do i get the client files to play on the xrazy server?  even if i set everything to auto-download i get "404 file not found".  and i cant find any info on that mod...

I don't think there's an actual download for the 'mod'.  Pretty sure I downloaded all the files I needed from the server.  This should also work for you.

Can you be more specific which files are 404 not found?

Have you tried the tastyspleen Xatrix server?  (goto xatrix)
Looks like those files aren't on the xrazy server.

See if they're on Xatrix - might be a quick easy fix connecting there.

Something fishy there. I never had that mission pack, and yet I have all the xatrix guns and sounds. And I'm about 99% sure I downloaded it directly from the xatrix server.

my quake was a demo version i downloaded from i forgot where. After some time connecting at vanilla and downloading maps textures etc., I think i got a complete quake2 game , even have completed the wholse mission. Thanks to Tastyspleen.

There's a place where you can download the full version of the game. Just Q2, no extras like mission packs. It's not a torrent either, just the full version in a rar file.

I suppose it is a copyright infringement, so I won't post the link publicly. Anyone who wants the URL, just PM me.

if the server has the files available they can be downloaded, but if they're in a pak I don't think they do.

All my xatrix files are NOT paks, they were files downloaded from the server.

So, let me walk you through what needs to be done to make sure it's not YOU fucking up anything.

Look at this picture.



You will find this menu thusly:
main menu > multiplayer > player setup > download options

Start up Quake2, go to that menu, and make sure all those are switched to "YES". I have player models and skins turned off because I don't want to download other peoples skins, you can have that one on or off, it doesn't matter.

Now... before doing ANYTHING ELSE!!! ...and this is very important now, pay attention... before doing ANYTHING ELSE, after you make those changes, QUIT Quake2. Exit out of it. This will save those changes to your main config file.

After doing that, start Quake2 back up again, then go back to that menu and double check that all those are still switched to what they need to be.

Then hop on the xatrix server and see if the those required files will download for you. I'm 99.9% sure they will, otherwise I MYSELF would not have them.

that's in my autoexec.cfg too but it never downloaded from xatrix.  Are the files REALLY on the xrazy server or just simlinked?  I can't d/l the q2 stuff from my server because they're simlinked, only content I upload.  Could be the old server had the actual files.

Yup. i also have xatrix file by doing this.

I'm still not 100% positive WHAT exact files are in question. Is it all the xatrix weapon, ammo, and projectile models that you're missing? It appears so from that previously posted condump. If the xrazy server isn't sending those files, it's because someone has the server set to not allow file downloads. Try doing it from the xatrix server, that should work.
