Hellos. last night i got hacked twice right under my nose. my firewall failed to catch him. he was chatting to me while he did it, i asked somebody who i know pretty well to take a look at whats comin from my i.p and apparently something called quake.kikazz or something silmalair (cant remmebr fully) was coming from my computer. ive no idea what this is, anyone fill me in? also can anyone suggest a really decent firewall?

I use Zone Alarm Free firewall, it seems to do a pretty good job.

It's pretty easy and simple to use, and online test say that I've got a good setup, no ports seen.

No joy with the kikazz thing :\ aww.. i heard zone alarm aint good tho, ill download it now tho. i got the inbuilt firewall up, am installing java, we'll see how many ports there are open...

Well i got java installed and everything.. then the java logo comes up as loading. then a red X appears in the left hand corner to show it aint loaded

You're not gonna stop a hacker from getting in with any firewall, but with a software firewall like zonealarm, it will stop any malicious programs (like trojans) from getting out, and alert you of it if set up properly. I'm still using a 5 year old version of it on one of my pcs. It's done a good job for me.

Not sure why that would be, were did you download the java from, should have been here www.java.com/en/download/

Choose "Scan and Save Log", then upload the log here, for us to take a look at, might be able to help you remove what ever it is this way.

Ive downloaded ZoneAlarm. already blocked 0ne high threat lol

id class this guy as more of a script kiddy, nevertheless, he got in. ill have a go at what ya said solo_senshi. omega, dont spam this thread up! its important to me

Well hopefully he wont get back in with the routers inbuilt firewall and zone alarm on. i know him at school and we WERE mates until he started doing that shit. he's only a lil nerd so if he carrys on ill pummel him

I don't really understand 100% whats going on, but firewalls will fuck up any attempt to cause bull shit on your PC.
