Hmm... I've never had much issue with MS products and I use hundreds of them daily... 

And you also have to update shit constantly and use an antivirus program to protect you from people exploiting all the fuck-ups designed into that wonderfully excellent operating system.

I begin to say that Microsoft just needs some viable competition. But then again, I've noticed a gradual trend over the past decade or two for ALL products to become more and more shitty as more competition jumps into the game.

I think you're observing a different, but very cool phenomenon. The amount of time between a high quality product introducing a new feature, and the generic companies producing a similar version has really dropped. It probably averages to about a year now before generic companies copy the quality technology.

In the same regard, the lesser quality "as seen on TV" products have been turned into main stream products quicker than ever. Probably 6 months. Orange clean is a great example of that. It was a useless As Seen on TV product, then when a use was found (cleaning up engine grease and similar things in garages and kitchens) the main stream companies all bit and now offer similar products. And now such time has past that there are generic versions of the stuff.

If you were talking about consoles and video games in general: it's a well known fact that today's consoles are shipped before being ready, video games are being pumped out by giant studios with no interest in making a great games, and sequels are virtually the only "new" games being produced. That and movie based games which are all bad. (Supposedly x-men origins is pretty good though. Who knew?)

I tried that Wolverine Origins Demo and it was well done. Unfortunately I played it before seeing the movie and was blown away by the use of gore in the franchise. I thought for sure the movie would follow the same page... nope. Here's the 360 version

Yeah, that game has 2 big things going for it. It's being made by Raven, and it's a rated M game made from a pg-13 movie. That's gotta end up being sweet!
