Newsflash- Planet Quake: "IGN Hosting To Close"

So now that I have that out of the way. We're once again faced with a crappy situation with potential loss of classic quake and quake 2 mods, maps, and other content. Previously the older hosting sites existed but had nobody to upkeep them. Now all of those old planet quake hosted sites are now going to be closed and all of their files lost.

So what do we need? A plan.

The first part of the plan is to get the word out to as many people as humanly possible so that we can contact the those who have access to these sites and back them up.

The rest? Well I have no idea. I'm not even sure where to begin. So anyone with ideas on how to get a list of all the hosted PQ sites, get the files off of them, and get contact information on people who did run those sites, please chime in! Let's discuss a course of action and get moving!

Question from another part of the Quake Community, somewhat relevant: Is there a Q2SP map archive anywhere? At least one thing that has been backed up already (and possibly others) would like to link to it, if it exists.

Rogue13`s modified framelist disapeared a while back.  Not wanting to appear selfish, but I cant animate any more q2 player models without it. I agree that somebody needs to trawl the archives and keep the precious juice available.
