Any map suggestions?!

The main factors we should consider would be:

Spawnpads

We should find something without spawnpads facing walls, and with as many actual spawnpads as we can find to minimize the telefrags and to keep the action varied. Spawnpads that aren't all along the walls of an open room ala 2box4 tend to cause less cries of "spawnrape!"

Open Areas

Railing in tight hallways for half an hour is fun, but not practical with 20+ players.
Having 2-3 (or more) open areas that are not visible from each other, but which give room for lots of people to mill around would be the preferred setup. Variations in elevation add a lot of fun to the play too, and some challenge in terms of positioning strategy.

Availability of the Map

Hopefully we can find something that meets the above conditions, and which everyone can get easily, or already has on their computer. One that everyone has actually seen before and played on would definitely be a plus. Something that isn't more than 5 megs of content to download would be nice too.

Secondary concerns would be things like visual errors on the maps..

Some, like beta2dm, would be perfect for this kind of play, but have hall of mirrors errors and other little bugs that render them less desireable. Others like tltf don't work well with certain mods (the server runs OSP Tourney)

Have at it. Maybe we'll make a poll with the map options this time so everyone can get their 2 cents in.

How about q2dm18? Edge and warehouse combined? Maybe too big.

Some random others: spogdm1,q2dm1_huge,q2rounda,demondm2.

Ther are a few larger tikidomain contest maps that are fairly big too.

I am gonna keep looking thru more maps. I think you are right on about the specs required for decent rail play for 20 plus players. Easier said than done to find the ideal map for this occasion.

Spawn pads are key. Some maps I have toured thru dont have the actual pad but you spawn all over the map.
Is there an easy way to find out how many pads per map?

BTW, spawn facing direction can be rotated, and spawn pads can be moved / added / removed using a server-side .override.

So if there's a map that would be great, if not for the spawn pads - just fire up notepad.exe

Good thing that you spent so much time to find 1 minor detail in order to shoot down a perfectly valid idea for no good reason.

I don't think this will be kickin off till some time next month, so there's time enough for a lot of things to happen.
I'll be keepin my eyes peeled for an appropriate map till then.

Minor detail? If it's a new map created for a map contest, then I highly doubt most people will have seen it, played it, or has it on their computer already... since it's obviously a new map. The trolling will continue until your reading skills improve.
