I'm thinking "hot" is simply referring to the superficial skin-deep attractiveness found in breast size and facial features. My generation is all about glamour and superficial women. I went to school with girls whose parents got them breast implants for graduation gifts etc. It's like the norm these days...and still it's all about men with money too. It's going to keep getting worse over time too, theres no hope for americans.

I imagine that this sub-culture of superficiality is the logical evolution of TV, and the value of appearance on that media. It has become steadily more important over time, to becoming almost mandatory. It spills over into everything. Magazines, cinema, commercials, and eventually into the mindset of young people. I've been watching this for a long time. The lesson is that anyone who is "attractive" is a winner and worth knowing and being with. The "not-so-attractive" are losers, trolls and should be mildly avoided - or at least stick with each other and not bother the beautiful people. When people say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, it actually has been analyzed scientifically. It all has to do with symmetry of the face (left side vs right side) and specific proportions on where the eyes, nose and mouth are in relation to each other. So if genetics didn't give you this, it's time for the plastic surgeon. The odd thing about all this, is that this generation (and the previous) are always being given "lessons" in self-esteem, tolerance, acceptance of others and so forth - in school, by parents and on most of TV media, constantly. Yet they have turned out to be the opposite.
When I was growing up there was someone for everyone. Didn't matter that much how many warts you had. Even moreso for my parents generation. Beauty was always admired but it wasn't the be-all to forming a relationship. And we didn't have Oprah to coach us on self-esteem and how we were unique, special people. We found that self-esteem came from accomplishment and achievement in life - not the pop psychology of TV talk shows.

Now you'll have to excuse me as I need to use my teeth whitener. I think that blinding fluorescent, white smile is so cool.

Ever notice how in "old" movies the most actors aren't perfect? Infact, far from it? Yellow, imperfect teeth, scars, etc. I'm not talking movie makeup but that's how the looked. I'm wondering if that's why movies aren't as popular as they once were. Similar to the theory in The Matrix that a utopia matrix failed because humans expect defects. If there is none they can't comprehend it.

they've been following what they HAVE been taught! Opposite of nothing! Decades ago you were tought self-esteem, morals, standards, hard work etc. People lived up to that. Then people became more worried about appearance (because it was within grasp of the average people to be better then average in general opinion) so they stopped with teaching morals, having high standards, hard work etc. & said you don't need that, you just need to be nice because someone might be lower then you & you shouldn't hate them for that. Ironically, teaching morals & standards did that too but it was labeled religious if you tought morals/standards, and that's illegal to teach religion, so morals & standards are wrong. So now you have a few generations who are tought you should be nice/accept everyone BUT they have no actual reasoning behind it or standards to try to achieve. No, not everything that was tought decades ago was right (ie bigotry) but instead of getting rid of baseless hate they eliminated everything that wasn't aimless love.

I for one, find Paris Hilton and the rest of the rich no-talent hollywood whores to be completely appalling.

That goes for any one of the Kardashians, anyone who's ever gone clubbin with Paris, and pretty much 90% of the people who regularly take part in the Hollywood nightlife scene.

That shit is not Hot. It's just stupidity and slutdom, packaged and sold to your daughters via the media and money grubbing entities like MTV.
