some people don't have a system that can run a consistent 120 fps in Q2 with stock resources.

others are running operating systems that lock their refresh rate at 60 and make vsync very tough to use unless you know what you're doing and how to work around this.


no 2 config settings are going to give everyone smooth and consistent gameplay, and cl_async 0 is pretty much only used in one of the many available q2 clients to set the behavior of it's fps coupling and not fuxor the physics.

In conclusion your pointless post in this pointless topic was pointless AND stupid.

Ever heard of onboard graphics?
You know, those millions of intel onboard chips that people have in their base level computers and cheap laptops for school..
They can barely scrape a consistent 60fps in opengl q2.

Tons of people play q2 on shitty computers like that.

Not everyone has a gaming rig, or a decent video card for that matter.
Even if they do, the older geforce cards won't be putting out a steady 120fps in q2 and the ATI's are generally worse.


Feel free to call me an idiot all you want, but if you're going to go around making asstarded claims for me to stomp on with proven fact, you will be the one who is consistently seen as being the dumbass.

The fact that you think you're some sort of jump guru who has it all figured out, while you get your ass handed to you on an issue as simple as getting the right FPS for jumping in q2, just sweetens the pot for me.



PS. What subforum are you talking about? You're the one who only plays jump. I play on almost every active server TS has to offer in plenty of different mods.

I can do all jumps with a wide range of fps. Multiples of a certain number work pretty flawless for me. Some multiples work better than others, but after messing with fps a bunch and jumping shit tons, I can definitely see a relationship between them. 120 is close to being a multiple of the number I speak of which could be why it works so well. Unfortunately, I've always been vsync'd so it's always been 63fps or less for me.. a slight handicap that I welcome as a necessary leash to my insane jumping skills.
