Question:
How open would pepole be to opening up the splatter fest to not just quake 2, but Quake 1/23 powered free games? I can host a server for:
Alien Arena
Nexuiz
Smoking Guns
Tremulous
Urban Terror
Warsow
Wolf of Padman

Not saying it will leave Q2, but those are free so everyone could get them, and they "support" the quake community.

If nobody's interested then I'll dismiss the idea (would like to get my GSP to add some more Q1/2/3 powered games too)

you can either download the ~32mb 4.0 & 4.1 update & instal as a Quake 2 mod or you can download the ~260mb exe installer & run as a standalone game, both will log on to the server (I checked).

Wallfly doesn't work on the server so you can't invite!, but you can go to the server:

there's not many special binds.

after I posted I realized you should really really download the map pack if you're using quake 2. Why? Maps are ~5mb in size, takes a while to autodownload.

You need to see the observer passoword for observer to work.

to be an observer type on console -> observer Mypass

what's the server observer_password for The Happy Friar's D-Day 4.1 ??
