Monitor questions.

What monitor do you use for q2?
I am looking to get into another crt. I have image tearing issues without enabling vsync and want 100 fps for the box jumps etc.
My 22 LCD is nice to look at but can only get 85 fps w/vsync.
I fried my last 19 crt by forcing 100 hz in 1024x for so long.
Do I really need a honking 21" 65 lb behemoth to run 100 hz vsync and no monitor stress?
Can a 19" get me what I want without blowing up? (10 x7 @100hz - durable)
thanks for reading.

LCD screens have gotten *much* better over the last few years, and you can specifically look for those with really low response times. Consumer models are around 5-7 ms, the one I bought is down to 2ms, and I experience no tearing. This thing is a dream, and wasn't all that expensive either. If the 100hz is really that important to you, have you tried running some searches on newegg or the like? They have criteria-based searching, and it's pretty handy for finding the exact hardware you need.

It's actually quite a bitch to find a good CRT with 100-120hz these days. Even on newegg.
I looked for one when my old viewsonic started to go dim and get the flickers, but couldnt even find one as good as what I had.
If you find one that's of good quality and can push higher refresh rates, let us know where!

thanks.
I am going to buy a NEC MultiSync FE2111SB 21" that has been in Craigslist for a bit. $60. I think it's a bit overkill. Meh. Gotta cut a hole in the freaking wall almost. 18.5" deep! Second heat source too. yay!

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
