A lot of you on irc will be fed up with this by now, but I swear I'm not an attention whore. This thing has been half-alive for the better part of six months now, and it's just starting to grow some legs and find out what it wants to be when it grows up. It wants to be an utter badass.

What the sam hell?
The Tastyspleen TastyCast is a community-centric shoutcast radio station, catering Quaking tunes, and soon interviews, loads of commentary, and all sorts of various asshattery. Here's the catch: it's gotta be your hat. And your ass. The Cast is there for the community, so that means that this is the time for you (yes, you) to get your input in and help determine how the radio will be used. Naturally, music is just the beginning. Beyond that, however, it'll be largely up to the community... at large.

Where is it?
The fledgling site is at http://jehar.tastyspleen.net/playing.html , where the basis of it's community involvement can be seen. There is a link to the pls on the site, and it can be opened with just about any media player... except WMP. Because it's retarded. For those of you who refuse to use anything but WMP, I'll have to deal with you later. For the rest of us, the cast will be running 24\7 on a dedicated machine. At the moment, there's a couple crappy advertisements that run every half hour or so. If there's any product, event, or asshat that you wish to have promoted, let me know, and we'll get working on getting an ad on the stream rotation.

Skyyyype?
Yup, that's a Skype button there. You can call the dedicated machine directly, and I will tend to pick it up if I'm around. Any interesting calls will be recorded, and then subsequently broadcast on air. I don't do them live, because syncing all of the input mixers is a major pain in the ass. I may wrap my head around it soon, however, and be able to provide that as well. This will be important, especially for features such as dual commentaries.

So, in conclusion, post your thoughts, questions, and suggestions. Get involved! Or suffer all sorts of squeamish monstrosities!

complaint though: during the nail (or whatever, the insta gib one) tourney a few days ago that was rescheduled you were relatively quite compared to the music.

Just finished broadcasting an interview with Jay Dolan, and the interview will be re-broadcast every night this week. If you really don't want to tune in, the mp3 can be downloaded on the site (linked above).
When you're checking out the site, you may notice some new things coming up on the calendar:
Top10 players - a review of the top players in the tastyspleen servers for the week. Will also have some general notes on people I may be annoyed with

Special awards for asshattery, being awesome, etc.
News! - A basic news rundown of upcoming events.

This is just the beginning, so stay tuned! Again, if you want to lend a hand with anything, just let me know!

Tonight brings a couple new things: first off, the introduction of QUICK RELOAD, a weekly review of a classic quake mod or conversion. These features may coincide with Sunday Splatterfest events on sundays! (maybe)
Also, Skype is totally LIVE and configured, ready to go - with all the kinks out. If you want to scream out a put-down over the airwaves, or publicly challenge someone, that's the place to do it!

THE CURRENT STATUS OF THE TASTYCAST:
This post should help clear up any confusion and prevent having to repeat myself to everybody who asks.
I am currently living in a new city with an associate of my employer, and I'm piggybacking off of his connection (this includes the TastyCast server, which is why this is relevant). This connection is piss-poor, and as a result I'm having to keep the cast bitrate down to 56k\mono. We *can* still do game shoutcasts, but they'll need to be from other people, as I can't even keep a good connection to a game server from here. So, if you're interested in helping us out during this time (I should only be here a month or so), let us know and we'll get you set up.

In the meantime, the Cast will limp along at it's current state. We apologize for this inconvenience.
