Well, i will try use my poor english to someone understand.
I got the null model in net around and this model is invisible!!!

So! Put in the path: players/null/null.pcx" and used it with my gladiator bot to i play with this model like enemy and can´t see him! My doubt is: he is cheat? Can use it in some server? Help me, pls! Not want use it and be banned in some server.

You would be kicked from most servers for trying to use that skin because it is invisible.

It is a cheat. Don't use it. If other people are using it, they're trying to cheat.

It's only really an issue if its on a server with auto downloading, most people will never see it since they don't have it.

I would just copy all the files in the Cow player (for example) into the players\null folder and then just re-name the cow.pcx file to null.pcx. Now you will see a "null" skin clearly as a cow and not have to worry about any server downloading the real files.

usefull command, just turn it off if you go play teams!

No, since only people who have downloaded or installed that model will see it. If the server allows arbitrary skin selection then that is the admins choice.

Right... we handle it in our config with:

adduserinfoban skin ~opentdm/null KICK Null skin not allowed.

If a player tries to use it, they get kicked.

(If anyone finds a server of ours where someone is able to play with this skin without being kicked, then it is a bug in our config for that server, so please let us know.)

and set these files to readonly so they wont be overwritten by the server again

The server can never overwrite your files.

allow_download_models "0" is easier
I use it
any non default model appears as grunt for me...

actually, only map downloads are enabled

see, I always saw that as one of the neat features of Q2 vs other more modern games: tons of custom content to view!

Agreed - the onslaught of pure servers in q3 wasn't a bad thing, but having sv_pure 1 as the default was a little heavy-handed. Custom models, sounds, skins, and textures ftw! Just don't be a jerk...
