I recall in Q2 that you could "chase" some one using console commands (chase or observe cant recall) I have tried that here and havent been able to. Is it disabled, not allowed, do I have the wrong command ( a distinct possibility) or what?

You can chase players by typing spectator 1 in the console (spectator 0 if you want to get out of that mode).

You don't have to do any of that on the tourney servers though, but you are probably already aware of that.

I've noticed there are still lots of people who don't know that 'spectator 1' is used instead of 'chase'. Maybe it should be added to Vanilla's Welcome message(?).

Yes spectator 1 will do what you want.then hit the fire button once to get in chase mode behind someone.use the [] keys to cycle through the players.

Spectator 0 will get you back to playing.

i have a question, while on the non tourney servers, can i spectate from "eyes" fov? all i get are the behind view.

In "eyes" view, you get a better idea of what the player is seeing.

Can you school me?

I hadn't thought of that Gator, I wonder if it would give you a better idea of who is wall hacking and who isn't from that view.

if I remember correctly...if u hit the spacebar or the fire key...it will change the view for chasecam

I think the "mod" on the TS servers was created by console/admin? I believe anyway. Perhaps he could add that as an option?

Another thing related to spectator mode. On Vanilla, or at least Mutant I think, there are only 2 slots for spectators (the third being always taken by Wallfly). Any chance to at least double that to 4 total avail spectator slots? Or have spectators dumped to regular players after map rotations, or have some sorta anti "this guy has been spectating for hours now and is obviously afk" action?

I'm a little confused here. The only way I EVER spectate is "in eyes", never "third person".

When you spectate on Vanilla, or Mutant, or any of the non-tourney servers, you can only spectate in third person. As in, you actually see the character model of the person you're chasing. Where First Person would be the same view the person you are chasing would see, just the crosshair, etc.

Nice avatar, Art. I found an Indian Head penny sticking out of the ground in my neighborhood (rural) as a kid. Dated 1862, if I'm not mistaken. That was an exciting piece of history for me, as a young'in. Began collecting coins after that (Mercury dimes, etc.) and had a nice bunch until my younger brother went and spent them all on candy. He regretted that day..hehe.
