Im not someone you should look out for, seriously there's much better players then me in Novice. ex:

DyN -- I played him the other night. I didnt know what to expect since i never played him before. He caught me by surprise with his high pong... around the 200's. Ill tell you if he had 50 ping he'd belong in the sport section lol. I played 2 1v1 against him. I won 1 and he won the other, therefor were about evenly match. *He's a REALLY fast player*

M^stster -- Yeah I dont even know why he's in Novice lol I was surprised to see his name there. I known M^stster from way back since i started playing and from clan matches I tell you his a tough one to beat.

Digency -- I played him the other night and he's quite something. I agree that his rail aim is awsome. I only played him in teams tho. So i dont quite know how his 1v1 skills are.

These are basically the people I played that impressed me. Then again I dont know about the other players since I dont recognize there name and I have never played them.

dyn actually gets in a lot more practice I think than anyone else in the novice bracket (at least from what I seen) he plays 1v1's all day long with various devine members, plays udml with us and shows for almost every practice we have (which is a lot! ) and then when he's not doing any of that you can find him at that QUAKE2.US server playing pickups, his gay ping really is his only set back, he's saving up for dsl tho so watch out

Dunno who will win the Novice at all, seems to be some decent players and some unkown players. But if you want to stand a decent shot at winning the way to go is to learn the maps! The maplist will probably make quite a difference, so whoever practice the maps the most and learn them best will win. Aim and movement alone wont make you go too far if you can't control a map at a resonable level.

Not sure how the maps are decided this time around, but get an idea on how to play each one of them (at least learn the layout by heart and the vital item placement, then the sounds and what areas to control, and then the spawns and trickjumps etc) , and maybe focus on a couple or so maps that are not so known, that way you should be able to win that map when facing an even or a little higher skilled opponent by knowning the map better. Focusing on known maps like q2dm1 and ztn2dm3 is not that smart as people tend to know those maps fairly well already. If you can't play q2dm1 by now it's probably a little too late to use time learning it. Try learning other maps that aren't that often played as you get more value for the time spent practicing.

Else since it is the novice bracket, chances are high you wont face top duellers, so try to focus some on item control as that is something players tend to forget at that level of skill, as they focus a lot on their own healthstatus and the opponent's whereabouts. At times you can totally annihilate decent players by keeping the vital items away from them almost all game long and just spam controlling rockets. Fun stuff.

And hmm, don't underestimate your opponent!

I'd watch out for Mat.  Im not saying this just because he is in the same clan as I am ... but I play him in matches often, and lemme tell you, when he is on .... he is one tough SOB to kill. 

Also, I'd keep an eye on Max Sr. and Max Jr. - Ever since they moved over to broadband .... it seems like they get so much better each day.  You'd be surprised!!

MaD is always a contender, even if she has only recently started playing again.  I had the chance to play her in a match a few days ago, and while she did seem a bit rusty compared to what I remember... I know where her skill level can be.  Watch out!

Dukie and Rogal are both HPB's (Dukie because he has dial-up, Rogal because he is not located in the US)  Both of these players are pretty mean, and if you get matched up with either of them, do some practicing.

I dont mean to leave anyone else out, but basically i either havent seen you play in quite awhile, or plain dont know who you are.  That being said, good luck to all!

I already have the feeling of being outmatched after seeing who signed up and the things I am reading about these players.  I'll do my best to give whoever I face in this tourney a good fight.  I'm out to prove to myself this time that I can indeed have at least a close match with someone.
