As far as I know the term was coined by [TC]Granny.

His first use of "nade clowned" on the forums appears to have been this April 18, 2006 post:

I recall a 1v1 q2dm1 match with Granny where DaHang or Damiah (very different players, just don't remember which sorry) was on the inner YA, tossed a nade by the rail stairs entrance, and shot a rocket.. both were timed perfectly for when Granny flew in.  Boom and Boom!  Nade Clowned.

Remember the old Bozo Show? I used to watch it all the time when I was a kid. Bozo and Cookie were an unstoppable nadeclowning duo.



I always wanted to go on the show so I could play the... GRAND - PRIZE - GAME!!!!! I had the home version of the game, I practiced and practiced my 1337 nadeclowning skillz so that if I ever went on the show, I would surely win.

Yes hehe I remember that one, but if I'm not mistaken it was Scooby doing that perfect combo.

Edit: hah I knew I still had that (3rd person ) demo somewhere, it was a GL + Rail combo @ 8:55, 11th frag.
