Originals of famous covers

You it disappoints me how some dumb remake of a song gets more more recognition than the original. There are many of this, but I'll give a couple:
Bruce Springsteen's original version of "Blinded by the Light"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN6zFN8cAPs&fmt=18
Screw the Mannfred Mann version, this one sounds way better IMO. I love the upbeat feel of this song much better than the misty, gloomy sort of feel on the Mannfred Mann version.
Willie Dixon's "I can't quit you baby"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpxNJcNRwFA&fmt=18
Ok, I like Led Zeppelin, but like many rock bands of the time, they did too many blues covers. This isn't the original "recording" of the song, but it's done by the guy who actually wrote it, the all-mighty Willie Dixon
The Beatles "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7F2X3rSSCU&fmt=18
I can't believe Elton John's version topped the charts in the 70s yet this one wasn't even put out as a single. In fact, it's interesting to know that Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band didn't have ANY successful singles, with "A Day in the Life" topping out only around the 40s.

There's many covers that work both ways - ie original is the best (example Talk Talk - Its My Life vs Gwen Stefani version) or where a cover is better (example Feist - Inside and Out vs original Bee Gees version).

Or Hot Rod Lincoln by Commander Cody vs the original back in the 50s.

Ahhh....no way. The Bee Gees have that annoying, whiny falsetto through the whole song. Feist made it contemporary, smooth, sophisticated and funky. I'll let others judge...

Wow. That's the worst bad wedding band I've ever heard. Proof that music doesn't matter in the music business anymore.

DM server is fucked. 2 point blank rockets from spawn and lava damage and player survived? WTF?" Also someone has fucked with the spawn points, every single time no matter how big the map you spawn right in front of the person who killed you last
