The server i had in mind was thegeeks.mine.nu, which is run by pextris, of clan virtue. It's much more stable than ETG, and has a REAL chanserv, and also has a nickserv. Also, you can register channels by yourself, without having to ask the admins. Come check it out. There's already Tastyspleen channel, it just needs more people.
