I thought this was gonna be a Xmas splatterfest type deal. A little late on the draw here, any chance this will be an event before spring?

I wasn't able to fix most of the errors before christmas  :raincloud:

I just want to finish it up and get a move on with gungame. I'm certain we'll have an event for this soon. Need some maps first though :)

Groovy. Git-r-done! Sounds interesting. I don't think worrying a whole lot about maps or new custom maps should allow this to get brushed under the rug for good. If the "weapons" for this mod are interesting enough, who cares about map appearance, just use a selection of suitable mutant maps, perhaps community recommended maps that would fit the bill for the play style you're going for. I miss the old days when TS had a plethora of servers all running lots of different mods.

Definitely not getting brushed under the rug. It's a simple gimmicky mod. After playing it for a few hours on new years eve, I realized that it doesn't have a lot of longevity. The most important thing is that there are few maps designed for this kind of play. q2dm2 was a ton of fun, but the rest are really dry.

I think that making the gameplay awesome is going to be a lot more about the maps than the mod itself.


The reason I want to get done and get back to gungame is because I started that one first and left it hanging without a fix for several major glitches. So I kind of swept that one under the rug, and I'd like to give the idea a second chance.

ammo is now "snowammo.md2"
projecticle is now "snowball.md2"
the POV weap is the same as it was (hands & snowball)

I think that you have those models separated out to just hands and just a snowball. The player view weapon only takes one model, normally tris.md2. I hope it's not a pain to combine them :). Please please please :)

So far it looks really cool with the new models.

they're separated because the animation has the grenade that changes shape & it didn't look good as the snowball.   Blender can't merge vertex animated models so I did them seperate.

But I just found out q2modler joins vertex models so here's a combo copy.  :D

One last tiny detail  :sorry:


I loaded a different install to try and test downloading, and I noticed that they still point to skin.pcx. Since that is the default skin name, it is not downloading the new copy and it gets skined with the regular grenade skin.

I'll stop whining about it soon, I promise  :badgrin:

remove white shell from ammo pickup and projectile
use new models for projectile, ammo, and view
add precaching for downloading
remove megahealth (again)
fix scoreboard related crash
