I can only make people a bit mad but haven't gotten anything like that. Had an occurence with the god of sounds recently.

And so I return, its been all too long ! Life has had quite a bit for me to focus on over years and much has changed, but one thing time will never change is the love I have for Quake II and all its memories. The time for a comeback is nigh!My most immediate priority is soon to curate the Whale maplists that are woefully years out of date and ensure what is on them most closely reflects the current needs of how WOD-X is played today for better flow and consistent action, and to find and restore classics that have long been absent but still suitable for fast pace! Further items of priority include updated asset downloads, ease of new player introduction and of course, NEW MAPS!
In fact I've had quite a few unfinished projects sitting on my drive I thought lost to time but will see the light of day when they are ready and I will try to post updates here as I make major additions. I've learned and evolved much during my experiences of map making, so stay tuned for that!
This time around I very much have a roadmap for quality of life on the server that have been long due, I endeavor to make much of it be realized well before actual Christmas this time!

- Not too often; there was a bump in traffic from the Remaster but it didn't go anywhere. DM is usually full and TDM still happens in America and Europe, but 1v1 is sadly dead. There are smaller communities in WODX and Xatrix that still exist.
- Time is and has always been a subjective experience. Your perception of time changes as you age as you become more comfortable in mundane activities that are necessary to live independently. The truth is that there is actually no difference between the past and the future and the only thing that has ever mattered is this exact moment and what you are doing with it.
- I made a cool sandwich the other day. Pastrami and swiss!!

Traffic started tapering off around 2018. DM still does plenty of business, but no one ever plays on Vanilla or Railz anymore like they used to. The greatest bestest dude who ever lived, Quadz, who was the owner, operator, CEO, head tech support, genius guru, and white wizard of the mountain of Tastyspleen, sadly passed away in July of 2021. We also got news not too long ago (Feb 2025) that Pepp, a longtime regular at Tastyspleen, passed away. So that answers #2 and part of #1.
Me personally, I very very rarely play Q2 anymore. My old Win7 box that I played Q2 with slowly fell apart piece by piece. First the monitor failed, then the bearings in the tiny fan on the video card wore out and started making horrible noise, and then finally the mechanical HDD failed. I have a newer little mini-ATX Win10 gaming box now, 1080p 27" Benq Zowie TN panel gaming monitor that can pull 160hz, GTX 1660 Super video card. It's not a newer Win11 box with an RTX video card, but it runs 1080p stuff like GTA5 pretty well and thats good enough for me at the moment.
