Quake / quadz's Birthday Hootenanny 2025

Greetings!

Come join us on Aug 18th for Bill's Brobdingnagian Birthday Shivoo on the mutant server.

Bill "quadz" Kelly was born on August 18th, 1971 and passed away on July 4th, 2021. He would be turning 54 years old this year.
Bill was an outstanding person who was greatly loved by the community, his friends, his coworkers, and his family. He is sorely missed by all.
Let's celebrate his birthday by remembering the good times we had with him, and of course, get some fragging in!

And so I return, its been all too long ! Life has had quite a bit for me to focus on over years and much has changed, but one thing time will never change is the love I have for Quake II and all its memories. The time for a comeback is nigh!

My most immediate priority is soon to curate the Whale maplists that are woefully years out of date and ensure what is on them most closely reflects the current needs of how WOD-X is played today for better flow and consistent action, and to find and restore classics that have long been absent but still suitable for fast pace! Further items of priority include updated asset downloads, ease of new player introduction and of course, NEW MAPS!

In fact I've had quite a few unfinished projects sitting on my drive I thought lost to time but will see the light of day when they are ready and I will try to post updates here as I make major additions. I've learned and evolved much during my experiences of map making, so stay tuned for that!

This time around I very much have a roadmap for quality of life on the server that have been long due, I endeavor to make much of it be realized well before actual Christmas this time!

Nowadays I find myself not even paying attention to chat.. I just play. if people say a bunch of shit, I just hit my "D:" bind lol. seems far more effective that way
