ambient sound turns off the railgun hum? I thought those were just "map" sounds, which in turn would not include the rg_hum

same reason it kicks for modified footsteps: it provides an advantage to locate someone more effectively who is sneaking in duel.

The thing with the rg hum is not necessarily volume. It comes down to being able to identify it seperate from the background noises of a map.

cant you just turn off ambient noise anyway?

i dont even hear the hum sound anymore, i think it got disabled maybe for having a modified one? if i had a modified one, i didnt know it. But I used to hear it, now i dont. and its a disadvantage NOT being able to hear it.
