1 / Clemency for the banned?
« on: April 24, 2020, 07:54:29 PM »
i remember the Argentinian girl that got banned a long time ago. she played xatrix right. sucks to be ousted and never to be able to play your favorite game again. (no other server has players) are there some others that got banned for other than cheating? is this still active ? what if they tried to connect? maybe we should drop the jail sentence and invoke life imprisonment sentence for parole. what say you quadz?[/size]

Registration / Ra2 Tier Poll
« on: October 18, 2016, 10:21:01 AM »
i don't think it's possible to have a tier of anything below tier 4. we are all experienced quake2 players. there is nobody really considered average except for maybe naked guy, and he can get some mean frags in DM. so i took the data from the above post and added names. Note** i'm taking excerps from the whole thread as a redux. i may or may not agree with every post, and it's open to debate.

Okay so, I've seen lots of comments and even been asked by many people, how teams are going to be picked. Most worried about fairness and team stacking..

The three/four admins and refs will have discussed and divided players into 3 different groups. better players, medium skilled players, and lower tiered  players. Then a randomizor would be used to create what stands at the moment 10 teams with a high tiered, med, and low tiered players.

By doing such its going to split up the el guys, make it so 3 high tiered players aren't teamed together. That was the whole point of a draft.

Alright everyone here are the teams! Note that because there is going to be a winners bracket and a losers bracket, Some people (by a random shuffle) get byes. Everyone will still get the same amount of play time so before you whine, learn how double elim works! With that said here is the website you can visit for all team games updated everytime someone plays,

1 .Kyper, Greenz, TheCleaner
2. Ziel, Random, AllexxKrycek
3. _c0re, [el]Legend, Magic
4. y0, [el]Stan, Misery
5. Haunted, Sooint, 2d
6. [el]Phil, Fader, Ava
7, Adrenaline, Barton, Erica
8, Killo, Washed, CiViLiaN
9, Slugs, Jehar, Idioplex
10, [el]Rick, [el]blend0r, WC2
11. [el]Milenko, ex, Golglo
12. [el]Todd, Bluemeanies, ni-x

Winners bracket round 1 and 2 will HAVE to be completed between April 28th and May4th, this gives people the weekend to get some game time in, scrims and/or time to talk and prepare. Though if LB games are ready to be played, please get them going as fast as you can.

Join #ra2draft on to get together with other players and plan your games!

Suggestion(s) for future tourneys

A --> Have a draft. 10 best players draft their teams starting from the worst captain until every captain picks their teams.

B --> Attempt to rank every player 1-30 (1 best, 30 worst) and then make teams with that scale. It would either be 1/11/30, 2/12/29, 3/13/28 etc.. or 1/20/21, 2/19/22, 3/18/23 etc..

Over @ Acme we use a draft and it works well (don't like your team? Blame the captain!) but it would be hard to co-ordinate with 10 captains.

My 2C anyways.

- Team size will be 3’s (atleast for the first go around)
- Games with be Bo3 and the final games will be Bo5
- Competive mode
- Rounds should be set to 9, armor damage on and falling damage on.
- An admin has to be present for games.
- A demo of each game is required, and are to be ready if asked to send them. (admins present should take screenshots of each match. (Reason: anticheat won't be forced on servers, due to its stopped development for new clients and operating systems.)
- Failure to provide demos upon request will result in an automatic FF.
- Map List is still to be determined, should be posted in a few days.
- Games should be played in a timely manner, and be fair for both teams.
- Server will be tx based as it is a central point for the US.
- Mumble is not required for games, but is encouraged as it is good for communication.

So yes they are required, id recommend sending demos to this email

i just noticed on QSB there is a NY rocket arena server hosted by none other than wallfly.  it would probably be advantageous for a home/away setup, since most regular players are west here and most of the acme new signups are somewhat eastern.

And no we will stick to the central point server. Thanks tho.

Community Events / EDL #12 Re-Loaded
« on: September 25, 2013, 05:52:24 AM »
suprised i don't see an EDL thread here for the new season. So i thought i'd take it upon myself to promote it. Those interested in joining the tournament have Until Sept. 29th to sign up. There will be multiple divisions to play in. (different skill groups). so even if your main mod isn't pure TDM, stop on by if you're the competitive sort.  be sure to read the rules at the website to make sure you're able to attend.

9 / Trolling (IGN)
« on: July 13, 2013, 12:51:54 PM »

they make a good point *cough*

So there’s this problem with IGN. A lot of the comments lately have been terrible.

Horrifying is probably more like it.

While most IGN comments are respectful and productive, we’ve let the abusive comments get to a point where they dominate our discussions. When even just one hostile comment is enough to ruin an entire thread, we’ve got to take our job as curators of our site more seriously. The best way to create an appetite is to feed it and, by letting these abusive comments live on IGN, we’ve been encouraging more of the same. It’s long past time for that to stop.

Some of what we’re dealing with is an extension of the trash-talking that’s part of a competitive gaming culture. Some of it is just the bold lack of empathy that the facelessness of the internet allows. Some of it is just the natural tendency of some people to find happiness in making other people miserable. The excitement over next-gen consoles and the increasing popularity of games in general means that we’re seeing more new users on the site each and every day. When you add all those factors together, it’s clear we need to pay more attention to our interactions with each other.

11 / RA2 skins
« on: May 22, 2013, 09:00:54 PM »
yea, i dunno if this is an actual issue. however i think some players can't see skins even when they are installed. i tried to install the old ra2 file in the past from this site:

instead go here:

However the file is missing. even when i did attempt to install, it gave me missing skins. The file obviously needs to be updated. perhaps someone can update the Ra2 server to fix whatever error people are seeing. i don't think it is allowing the download of skins. i noticed this with lithium as well, as the player actually has to be actively playing for the skin to download.

EDIT: Nevermind i think i have all the skins. so far i have yellow, aqua, green, orange, red, blue. The download doesn't install  for newer OS'. i don't know if new players have this issue.

Politics / Current Politics & History Only Thread
« on: May 03, 2013, 08:32:33 PM »
Since my post got deleted, i thought i'd make my own thread. comment as you see fit. however, if anyone throws in personal insults and offtopic nonsense it gets deleted. some considered in the troll crowd, will be auto deleted.

(only replying to politics forum posts, regardless).

would it be correct to say that abraham lincoln was a scumbag, that steamrolled over many of the bill of rights? wasn't it he that conscripted soldiers to fight and die in a war against it's own countrymen, to inadvertently free slaves? a strange dichotomy when you actually  think about it

The real reason of the war wasn't slavery. (even though nobody should be a slave) it was a about succession. at least that is what i gathered from the documentary that i had cited in another thread recently.

even after all that, we still have slavery in the world, sex slave rings. human trafficking, and the mentally enslaved thinking we are living in a completely free country. It was a long run, but the more things change, The more they stay the same.

It can't happen here.
