demomap shift.dm2

Thanks again, I put this on Youtube:

I'm not sure if it can be fixed but the weapon shows up on the cam screen sometimes.

1v1 and TDM Demos / Re: Thresh Demos

Yeah right after I posted this I remembered that was Quake 1 when he won the Farrari. His legend moved on to Quake 2 but I guess that career was too short... with that said Quake 2's career was too short, but it could never compete with the visually appealing Quake 3 which came out only two years later. I started playing Q2 a few months before Q3 and I remember how quickly the Q2 scene died after that (spent most of my time on heat.net at that time). I gave Q3 a try but if I remember correctly the demo of Q3 didn't even have strafe jumping. I was like WTF no ramp, double or strafe jumping... fuck this shit. hah.

1v1 and TDM Demos / Thresh Demos
« on: November 19, 2013, 09:36:12 PM »
Most people would say Thresh was the original king of Quake 2... mostly due to winning John Carmack's Ferrari. He's even in the Guinness Book of World's Records as the first pro gamer. We've all seen the demos of Thresh vs. Immortal, Billox, Ren, Angelstorm... but is that it? I've seen the same demos since I started playing Quake 2 in the 90s... I guess I'm asking.... does anyone else have any other Thresh demos? I never really found them that inspiring but maybe that's due to the fact they were done so early in Quake 2's lifespan and before some patches witch evolved the physics. Regardless I'd like to see some more from this legend.

idle in #nadl and #tastyspleen on irc.enterthegame.com and you can find some of the active players there

that's how most of the tdm goes down anymore

Thanks, should of known that. Just wondering if there was anything unique going on these days.

or just learn who duels and ask them on a server, not rocket science

Actually it is rocket science.

Is there a better way to find a duel than just waiting on a server and hoping right now?

Fuck man when I saw that logo I damn near cried. Those were Quake II's glory days. I have not played RA2 hardcore since then, just not fun anymore. If I had the time today I'd jump in

Yeah man Heat.net was awesome... it was way ahead of it's time. You can't find a better experience today. There was something about having chat lobbies that just made it so much more than just playing a game. It was a living breathing community.

I remember towards the end having to do some hacking to get in the backdoor as things started to shut down. I then heard all the l33t players used GameSpy3D and were on a little site called esreality.com

Does anyone have this demo? http://www.revilla.nildram.co.uk/demos-q2-top10.htm I remember watching it years ago. It was pretty awesome. If you have more of Revilla's stuff that'd be cool too.
