I had quit a job back in 2013 with 6 weeks of funds to hold me till I found a new job. At week number 7 he sends me a loan that keeps me afloat till my new job started. I never forgot that.

Like so many of you here now the servers, forums, and IRC was my home, I lived here. It was home. For some it still is home.
The reason I say this is because as I read through so many of these I keep seeing the same recurring theme. So many people who literally grew up from kids to adults on these servers all saying the same thing. How Quadz was there for so many and how he directly and/or even indirectly influenced them in their lives in many positive ways. So many that has grown up and moved on coming back "HOME" to pay their respects and to share their memories.
Even the older ones like me.

There has been something on my mind for days that I have to share.
Every time I read one of your stories the same song keeps forcing its way into my head. Not the EXACT song of course (change a few lyrics to reflect your time here). And even though I try to force the song out another one of your stories forces it back in. And I think I know why. It's the same reason some of us years later still pop in for a few rounds, the same reason I'd log onto IRC for a minute even though I knew most were gone and those that we're there likely didn't know me. Because at the end of the day it's true for so many of us, even if it was to the smallest degree.

Thank you Quadz, I have no doubts that we'll find a way to keep the lights on, roof repaired, and the walls and windows clean.
You truly built "The House that built us"

Just sat down to dinner when I got notified. Read the message and was gut punched . . . hard. I'm still having difficulties accepting it in my head. Like there's just no way.
I've been the very fortunate recipient of his presence in person. Met him at QuakeCon a few times and I'll always be the better for it. I still remember when he visited my old LAN arena for the Pre-QuakeCon Tastyspleen LAN pary in 2007. Have a picture of him asleep on the sofa we had there.

But this isn't just devastating news for alot of us personally, it's also going to be (I predict) devastating for the entire Q2 community. My condolences to his entire family. I remember Him and his wife seemed pretty tight. Hell you'd have to be to put up with the hours he sacrificed for these servers, this game, and especially for US. I have no doubt his wife loved him a great deal to continue sharing him with us for all these years.
My time here at TS, time I spent on the servers and in IRC with him were WELL SPENT. My memories of him here, on the servers, in IRC, and in person are endless. I could spend all day talking about them. I made ALOT of new family members here over the years that I would share my home with in a second if they had need.
And I owe all of that to Quadz.

Someone asked
What happens to Tastyspleen now?

I'll give you the same answer I gave Gator when asked a similar question.

I don't think there's a heir to THAT throne Sir.

R.I.P. Sir
May your Rail Gun always recharge .0001x faster than the other guys.
