NOTE: This question is related to classic Quake II patched to version 3.20, not modern source ports.

Is there a way, either via map editing or cvars, to disable or inhibit info_player_intermission in single player? I played Q2 when it came out (thus prior to the 3.20 patch) and I remember that the transition between units happened without info_player_intermission being triggered (you were brought directly to the end-of-unit cinematic). Indeed this entity was already present in the maps, but it was only meant to work in multiplayer: in single player it's pointless, and it also breaks immersion. Simply removing the info_player_intermission from the map (or changing its spawnflags so that it's only present in deatchmatch) doesn't work, since Q2 will automatically re-direct the intermission view to info_player_start.

@apm: You can play Citadel either in normal Q2 mode or with Knightmare. I have not tested it with Q2Pro, but one of the users has reported that it doesn't work with it, so I don't recommend it. Many thanks in advance for playing my levels!

@Kyper: I've done some experiments, you CAN delete soldier/tris.md2 and gunner/tris.md2 without compromising the functionality of the game. In other words, those files are not essential. However, before you start playing Citadel, please try also 'map robotics' and 'map switch' and let me know if you get similar errors for boss5 and boss2 respectively. Because boss5 is a critical entity and the tris file must not be deleted. Thanks in advance.

Hello Kyper. I have never exprienced these errors, and no one has ever reported them. Do they prevent you from running the map, or does the map load anyway? Also, are you using some custom OpenGL renderer by any chance?

Hello everyone! Some of you may remember Citadel, a Quake II unit that I released in 2007 (version 2.0 came out in 2009). Two years ago, having noticed that my levelpack had disappeared from the web, I decided to bring it back to life, but this is more than a re-release. Citadel 3.0 contains two more maps than the previous version, bringing the total to nine (eight regular levels and a secret level). All the old maps have been revised and re-compiled, with more or less evident changes in visuals, layout and gameplay.

For those of you who have never played it, Citadel is an old-style unit featuring a wide range of entities from Ground Zero, The Reckoning, Zaero and Lazarus, along with completely new entities. I hope you will enjoy this levelpack, comments will be most welcome.
