Nice! I have seen that jump before but it's not the one I meant - I was talking about the first part of that, the easy(!) one from RA to MH. I extended the floor slightly, you can see the extra little ledge, because I couldn't do it every time.

There are a couple of errors in the map - the endgame camera was not setup so you get a dull picture of a wall when the game ends. There's also a vis portal error under the small bridge in the far corner to the right of the RG chute, if you stand in the open 'arena' area. But there's one of those in q2dm3 so I don't feel too bad about it. Did they ever fix the battleground bug where team members teleport inside each other and get stuck? That kind of spoiled tdm play a bit.

It makes me glad people are still playing it, I loved Quake 2 and played for years until moving to Q3 and CS. Was just looking at old LMCTF demos.

Thanks!

wiiise fwom your gwave

Thanks for playing my map and having it on the mutant server!

The idea with the 'gardens' was both to have a nice visual addition to the map (it's a bit dull elsewhere on purpose) and a fire corridor which could not (normally) be entered. I liked the idea of firing rockets and rails through the windows to cut the corners.

My playtesters showed me you could get in there but I decided to leave it possible, partly for version control because someone had already put it on a server and partly because I love features like the q2dm1 sky bug. It's not hard to recognise that q2dm1 is a major inspiration for the map, with weapon location being very similar if you think about it. Although mine has a quad.

The second spot is off one of my clip brushes which I probably should have extended to the ceiling, but no matter :)

Cool to see the jumps people are doing as well. You can see the limit of my jumping ability - I had to extend the RA platform slightly because I couldn't make the jump from the MH reliably, but others are better jumpers than me ;)

Anyway this thread can sleep for another 5 years now.
