Maybe I'll install Quake2 again and come join up on some Sheridan! It has been years since I have played.

The makefile is in the build/game directory, which isn't included in the source archive above.
I haven't done any Q2 modding in a long while but try this: Open up p_weapon.c Go down to: void Weapon_Railgun (edict_t *ent) { static int pause_frames[] = {56, 0}; static int fire_frames[] = {4, 0}; Weapon_Generic (ent, 3, 18, 56, 61, pause_frames, fire_frames, weapon_railgun_fire); } Decrease the amount of pause frames, this should decrease the idle time. I don't remember my shell password on tastyspleen, I need it reset!! 4

Honestly at this point if I were going to change it back I would have after we had the conversation before you took it to the forum. Now we will let the reason you took it to the forum play out and influence the decision.

I didn't make any changes to the mod itself. I turned on powerups then re-mapped the invulnerability and quad damage power up to a red armor and power shield. This gives other players an increasing chance to attain the power shield without having to enter the court yard.
I can put up with a lot of frustration while playing the game, I rarely kill jager, it's just death after death. When I actually do kill him it's from using some gorilla tactic, I do still enjoy trying though. He was getting me to the point where I couldn't even get a shield to put up a good fight. I would like to think of myself as one of the best players of the server but if I am even beginning to become frustrated I cannot imagine how others feel. I don't even go for other weapons or armor first, if I am going to die before I am able to get power shield then it was just a waste of time to pickup anything else. So I decided to try out an extra power shield and extra body armor to see what other players think of it. Which are just some simple cvar changes that can be easily switched back. So far the people I have talked to really enjoy the addition, it gives them a greater chance of getting power shield which is what the entire map revolves around. There is less running away from fights as other players become more confident that they will be able to get back into the game without a struggle. Many people even have problems killing me, as they are dead before they can even get stocked up enough to fight, this change only gives other players (especially new ones) a fighting chance against people better than them. I have also only had it changed for 2 days. As to the other changes, the BFG was toned down a bit to account for old sheridan constantly altering its availability. I would also like to note that out of all the regular players of Sheridan, jager is the only one that has ever complained about anything that has been changed or added. Many people seem to think spinkick is pretty funny and thought it was even more fun when it kicked the weapon out of your enemy's hands. I go back and read the logs every so often to see what others think about changes, many people still seem to have fun playing with spinkick. My main use for it is for escaping, I can kick people back, out of my way or into the lava. 10

Only took about 30 minutes of debugging to figure out. Once it's installed there are no more checks. Same with Windows Media Player 11. 12

http://www.google.com/search?q=DCOM+exploit
http://www.google.com/search?q=LSASS+exploit HUGE exploits, worms infected almost every XP user at least once worldwide. Still effects many. Users with a properly configured firewall would have been safe. 13

If you right click My Computer, go to Properties, then select the Automatic Updates tab you can click the radio for Notify me but don't automatically update or install them. Then you can choose which ones to update and install. Just use a pirated version of Windows and you wont have to worry about Internet Explorer getting updated because the legit check will fail.
so in other words, SHUT UP and quit whining. ITS YOUR FAULT not MS. I used to have a list of offsets in system32 dynamic link libraries I debugged using SoftIce (kernel debugger) to create fixes for myself, every time I had to re-install windows I had to patch these files in safe mode to become compatible with my hardware or my OS wouldn't boot. I emailed Microsoft about the problems and they would never respond. That system ended up getting burned up due to bad electricity so I ended up getting a new one which doesn't have any problems. Not everything is perfect, especially not everything from Microsoft. Just take a look at vanilla Windows XP (without service packs), you get on the internet with that and you will end up with the blaster worm in seconds (which forces a system shutdown (not enough time to get the security updates)) without a firewall or security updates due to the DCOM exploit. 14

I don't play anything except Sheridan so I have no idea how any of the other mods have it done. Give me the address of a server that has it done how you want it and I will go there and create a mimic. I will also add in a first person chasecam while I'm at it, I will be able to get this stuff in over the weekend.
