Quake / Re: q2ctf1 windown: how i return to it?

changing fps is an exploit. it allows the user to evade attacks a bit easier. (similiarly like how a player can flood a server with packets to make a laggy effect.)  also access places normally that couldn't be accessed in that way. limiting the fps on servers should be implemented if possible.  set min_fps 60?

What if my computer can't handle 60fps?   You want to keep people with old computers from playing quake2.  Jerk.

Getting in the window requires a lower fps drop than to get out.    Getting out of the window I recall can be done with anything below 35.  To get in I always needed to set it to 7 fps

Years ago you could even set your fps to zero creating fake lag which fortunately on ACME is impossible as they have min fps set.   Can't get in the window anymore either, which is fine by my because no one else does, and no one plays q2ctf1 anymore.

I used to have this in my config file for the map:

alias +fd "cl_maxfps 7;+movedown"
alias -fd "-movedown;cl_maxfps 120"

alias +fl "cl_maxfps 24;+movedown"
alias -fl "-movedown;cl_maxfps 120"

bind z "z$bank"
alias zNA "+movedown"
alias zCT "+fd"
alias zSH "+fl"

Quake / Re: Ventrilo / ex

Vent has it's legitimate use to communicate with teammates while in play and to make playing quake more of a social experience.  Using vent to chase and give the location of enemies however is cheap and childish.  In match play this would be considered cheating. In pub play it is too, but it's impossible to prevent or stop unless someone is dumb enough to brag about it.   Ex, you and h0ps were getting your jolly's at the expense of 2dum.  Not liking someone is not justification for being an asshole and trying to ruin the game for them.  Read through what you have written here and reconsider your position.  We all can be belligerent and get ahead of ourselves at times, but reasonable people will respect and forgive you so long as you're willing to admit it.
