It is funny to me when I come across someone jumping in one spot. I realize what they are doing but the circumstances that brought me there had nothing to do with the sound they were making. Players have tried using that tactic to prove I have sound. Eventually I stumble on them randomly and they say I heard them and came running. Kind of rediculous when you can move pretty quickly around an entire map. Most of the time though the person doesn't know I'm playing without sound and just looks crazy jumping up and down in one place.

Foc, you hit on a couple good points. The first being that setting swapinterval. If it is set to 1, the mouse would seem slightly lagged and would make landing flick shots difficult. That is EXACTLY what I was experiencing!! I couldn't understand why the entire world could land those so well and I was missing so many of them. It was like my mouse didn't want to do what i was expecting it to do.

Secondly, the ping factor. Alpha plays like he has a ping around 50 as opposed to 200 which always surprises me when I play him. I can see why you'd ask him about hacks in that regard. I don't think alpha hacks. I think he really makes the most of bad ping with good timing shots and reflexes similiar to my reflexes due to no sound. You just get used to your handicap and learn to play with it. Even so, though, eventually a large difference in ping will affect you eventually (just like my lack of sound is my downfall). I'm sure if our pings were reversed, the score would have probably gone the other way.

Skillshot...when it comes to Alpha...I recommend adopting console's policy as follows...

These days, my official policy is I give exactly zero fucks about whatever Alpha decides to complain about...

...there really was no reason for you to take your valuable time to post your demo of the game just to appease a whiny cry babby...especially considering you have respect from players around here and he has absolutely none...

Thanks blue! I'll keep that in mind for future reference

Ah. I just assumed it was all recorded but that makes sense. My ignorance of the matter only goes to prove my point even more :).

I wouldn't even know where to begin making an undetectable hack.

Wallhacks and spiked models are not the same thing as you seem to be getting your words mixed up. if i had a spiked model, quake would render it as the model and the demo would have recorded it.

In regards to me talking about easily hacking AC so wallhacks are possible/undetectable, i have never in my life claimed it would be easy or desirable to make a hack to bybass AC. You must have me confused with someone else. If that convo was true, i'm surprised you didn't report it on the spot.

Anyway, spiked models as you have hinted would have shown up in the demo if i was using them. so that argument is invalid.

|iR|Sk1llSh0t: either i'm shooting blind or i saw you stick your nose out

for someone who doesn't use sound you sure hit alot of "blind" corner shots. wonder how long those noses are  sticking out :)

you also didn't really answer my question how you got considerably better over night. you said you changed some commands. please inform us what commands you say you used to achieve this?

No matter what I tried, i couldn't get my fps higher than 60. After a lot of searching, Dervish informed me of a config variable i needed to set in order for that to change.

set gl_swapinterval "0"

I believe it is this line. If the value is 1, it goes to 60 fps. It wasn't so much the setting that allowed improvement. it was getting the fps boost. If this isn't the right command, i think dervish could clarify as he was the one that provided it. I hope that answers your question.

Hitting a corner shot isn't genius if i know you are there. When you take a quick step out and back (what i mean when i say stick your nose out), I KNOW YOU ARE THERE and wait for you to do it again. smackdab accuses me of the same thing about corner shots but has gotten smarter in regards to this lately as he will then flank around me since he knows i'm still looking at that spot and can't hear where he has gone too. Pisses me off beyond all measure but it is a good tactic against one with no sound.

I think that the |iR|sk1llsh0t wallhacking situation should be handled fairly and by the book.

That being said, the aforementioned evidence will be considered by a jury of the defendent's peers. Alpha will prosecute his case with the said evidence. The jury was selected randomly, fairly, and without any bias whatsoever. Those selected to serve in the jury are T17u5, b0yce, wood, Br0nco, l0ckp1ck, ztev0, C69nc3R, and uN3rthLy. Judge Muffin will be presiding over this case.

I wish you the best of luck when we try to get to the bottom of this sk11sh0t.

LOL

Rails Demos / Sk1llSh0t vs Alpha - Wallhacks?

I am posting a demo of our match at alpha's request. I tried sending it to the email you provided alpha but it bounced back so here it is.

I have watched it. You will notice a number of times you shoot from behind me. i only know you are there b/c your rail grazes my head. Honesly, i'm just running around the map seeing what i can see. I have no sound so i can't tell if what i'm doing is hack-like or not. Some people used to analyzing demos could probably tell better if i'm doing anything out of the ordinary.

alpha, it may also help to turn off your volume and watch it. might give some perspective.

Explain the pwnage part,  or is pic unrelated?

The pic doesn't show the tele spot but it is there to the left and kinda behind me. 3 rail blasts to the spot leaves little chance for survival :).
