Quake / Re: Why Quake

Most 'Quakers' prefer the series because of its quick, strategy and arena based action.  All the quick decisions and things you need to keep track of (item timings, enemy positioning, weapon choices, etc.) make the game extremely versatile and unique.  Many different and new situations are constantly happening.

All this along with having advanced movement ( something that is very lacking in most if not all modern 'realistic' games ) creates a really great game with many layers of gameplay, allowing it to constantly grow and evolve.


These are my thoughts, anyone have any others?

I am putting together (or trying to..) a little wsw koth event to try and get some more people interested in the game. it will hopefully have a rather large beginners section at the beginning for all the people that are new to the game, follow by the skill level edging up until all players are used up. you get the idea.  If you promote this, please include the channel that will be used: irc.quakenet.org #warsow.na  And also include the link for downloading warsow so people that don't yet have the game, but want to try it out can get it easily.

hey everyone, i've just completed a beta for my first map. i'm open to ideas and suggestions.

map philosophy:  i've made this as a 1v1 map. and here is how i invision the map play.

there are 2 areas that can be held down. the main room + chain (for the person in control generally), and the rocket hall.  There is no health on the map besides the adrenaline, because the person with control of main has too much position dominance for him to be healing up all the time.  It would just be rediculous.  This way the person in main can be worn down in between adrenaline spawns and possible killed to reverse roles.

tell me if i should add weapons/take away. add rooms, change teles, or any other changes.

NO KNEAD POT BREAD!!:  this is one of my favorites. The bread is easy and tastes delicious!

First:  Stir together following items in large bowl:

4 cup flour
1 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons salt
3/4 teaspoon yeast

Second:  Vigorously stir in 2 cups of cold water into the mix.  When done, all flour should be moist but the overall dough should not be overly wet.

now spray the top of the dough with cooking oil or olive oil or whatever oil you have. (not car oil.... :P )

cover the bowl and put in your refrigerator for 24 hours.


Third: preheat oven to 450 degrees and let EMPTY dutch oven or heavy metal pot to sit in oven for 10 minutes or until "sizzling hot".

loosen dough from sides of bowl and invert it into the pot (after spraying pot with non-stick spray).

generously spritz top of dough with water and immediately cover.  Then shake the pot back and forth to even out the dough inside.

Put pot in oven and bake for 55 minutes.  then remove lid and bake for 15 minutes or until top is well browned.

ENJOY!

P.S. it seems tricky at first, but its really simple. Not to mention the bread is heavenly.

Hi, sign me up if these things are still happening.  i'm mainly looking for control tips. (what to do in cirtian situations etc.)

i've been playing q2 for about 5 days now, so i'm not great, but i'm making progress.
