what is spawngirl server's IP address?

i do have my client download settings correct.   but when i connect to xrazy (74.54.186.236:27929) or xatrix (74.54.186.226:27919) i still get a bunch of 404 file not found errors...

i can connect... but i see the fullbright white floating diamond things in place of the original "xatrix" weapons.  such as the "ripper"...

where do i get the client files to play on the xrazy server?  even if i set everything to auto-download i get "404 file not found".  and i cant find any info on that mod...

yeah, only ~4 or 5 people showed up.  Where is everyone????
On that same note, maybe we should put together an effort to fix some of the issues before hosting it again. Fix things such as the team and class menus disappearing. I'll be willing to put the time into it. Do we have the source? Can someone compile it into a .so when I'm done?

You are more than welcome to mess with the source to attempt to fix any bugs and tweak anything.  Let me know if you need any help.

I was attempting to get together a more friendly config pack, but im still puzzled as how quake2 execs the configs, and in what order...

config.cfg when you start the game,
autoexec.cfg when you join a server?

9pm EST.  From the look of it my server runs fine, just needs someone to manually change maps, which is no big deal as me, jehar & peewee all have rcon access.

the only thing i noticed...
when i first join the server, the menu for team selection never displays for me.  I have to connect, then type "rejoin" in console, then i get the team selection.

...but not a big deal, as long as people know to type "rejoin" if they can't get the team selection menu to display.

I am decommissioning my server (71.230.170.126:27910) at this point, and we will use Hellfire's for the time being.

are you running linux?  I'm using jay's compiled version.  Could be an issue with that, or q2admin, I haven't tried running w/o it.

no.  i am running winXP.  The server is just the Quake 2 Full install, with the BotS files in place.  No special clients/server software.

my little Battle of the Sexes server is running at 71.230.170.126:27910.

its only 8 people max clients, its running off my cable connection at my apartment.  But i havent had any of the problems that you seem to be having, feel free to check it out, or email me at slowmotioneric@gmail.com for any other help.  I dont know much about servers, but i can tell you what my settings are and whatnot.

i can tell why the votes didn't work: the maps in the vote listing aren't the maps included with the download.   :frustration:  not sure why the time isn't running out, maybe the time limit doesn't work, just frags?

timelimit works on mine...  here is the settings in my server.cfg also...
