Processor,

Delete all the flames so we can continue this thread, the baby trolls will get the message at some point, trust me. Once they all get some nap time in and a baabaa they'll go away. I don't think they'll hold it against you or feel like you're playing sides, I'm sure even they know they look like idiots with all this incessant hot air.

Processor,

I suggest going through and deleting all of the childish derailing posts. This can be a great, constructive thread without all the nonsense in it. Once you delete this guys for a while, they'll start to get the hint and go find some other post to flame.

It is common for threads to go off topic and / or become total cluster fucks in these forums.

I suggest just deleting it. A lot of these kids don't have any respect for anyone but eventually they'll get bored and move on. Prime example of what happens when parents don't discipline their kids, they end up being tastyspleen forum trolls! hehe

Sorry to see your own clan mate doing it though, figured he'd have a little more respect for your thread, but i guess a troll is a troll...

In my case,I tried getting anticheat to work.Downloaded and installed the DLL,and tried each of the alternate executables that can use it. I normally run EGL 1.7 because I can actually move with it,and see things,unlike the other alternate EXEs out there that support anticheat.Just now,I tried R1Q2 and loading anticheat crashed it.Q2Pro won't load my model or any past the letter B,so that's out.And Aq2 crashed as well.

I don't cheat.Even when I am having my rare good days I get accused of it. But if everyone is forced to use anticheat,what happens to me? Winning is nice but not important,but being able to play is. The whole anticheat thing is but cobbled together stuff by fans,and consequentially not expected to work perfectly,as little in software does. I will stick to my 1.7 for now...and hope .Cheaters are out there,but they can only shoot what's in front of them after all :biggungrin:

What OS are you running?

I've seen different forums use logins to display a different set of sub-forums to post in.

I'll try to explain the concept in a suedo code style

[forum home]
  [quake forum]
    [bot-drop]
      IF "user.access-level"
         -basic user THEN{empty forum with option to make a new thread with or without demo}
         -Admin user THEN{populated forum with threads posted by basic users, option to reply and discuss demo}
         -Quadz/Console THEN {all threads and executive dicision/power to take the admin discussion and ban, warn, or clear individual}
         -Guest THEN {"please login or create account to view/post content}
      ELSE {no access}

I don't know if it makes sense....just trying to get some progress here.

I have used a lot of different forum software. I know that SMF can be fairly limited unless you know how to script the plugins for it. This would be cake if we could convince Quadz to move to Vbulletin :> Would be no problem to port all those settings and posts over. It's about a 100 dollar investment though. Unless he wants to be a pirate, arrrrr!

I don't think that's going to stop people from recording and posting demos here though.

Hmmm...what if someone posts the demo, then locks the thread? It would prevent the follow up by everyone on the banwagon from getting involved and would simply allow the admins to check in on the demo and converse between themselves.

Seems more like having a strict no public posting of demo's allowed and admin approval of all files is the way to go. That also creates more work load and  I personally think it won't stop the trolls from going into a frenzy by just having the word of one of their own or a demo posted off site. The only real solution is the start cracking down on that specific group of people and start giving them warnings and temp bans for being asshats. If you leave them to their ways, they'll find ways to annoy members or make asses out of themselves.

They just need some discipline is all.

I do agree there should be a non-biased council that reviews demo's, people that have experience and are mature.

Hal, you posted while I was making my response to lidz:
The difference is that it is handled behind closed doors before the dirty laundry gets hung out. So the initial decision is left to those with the authority and the responsibility, not the ones who think they know what they are talking about. (from your side wouldn't that be a benifit?)

Sigma, anything would be a benefit that doesn't feed trolls, for sure. That's more disruptive than anything else. So from that point of view I agree fully.

I don't think that's going to stop people from recording and posting demos here though.

he can not beat anyone now that AC is enabled, so we can conclude that 'Threatening to force anticheat' is a great solution. Not off topic.

Very sad for a guy that like's to pretend he's so mature  :<  Guess your true colors came out because you were upset.

Ladies and Gentlemen

This thread is to come up with a solution to cheating.

Lets not turn this into a cluster fuck thread like some the others around here?

Well Processor, as you can see I have tried to get this back on topic many times. My posts have been defensive not offensive. I had an opinion to offer based on my feelings on the subject and was attacked.

As you can see the sort of constant childish stuff like what [BTF]EyEsTrAiN just posted. I wish I could help more.

He sucks, has always sucked, and always will suck. He was never beating anyone.

Here's proof, I think Haunted's only ever played with me two times ? He was the lowest scorer every time. He had to be carried in 2's and he always caused his team to lose badly... Totally the guy that should be saying who sucks in TDM - haha.

Well..I guess the real question is..is anyone losing to this guy now that he is using ac???Or is he still "having trouble getting it to work"?

Nothing has changed except if I have a bad game or get a low accuracy with any gun during a game, these guys start doing cart wheels and shitting in their own hands like monkeys saying, 'see, bot, bot bot, you suck now, I was right, toally right, I win Quake!'

Then when I do good and get a high accuracy or own someone,  they will avoid talking about it at all.

It's pathetic really....

Just went on, and I was pinging 100 flat.

Just stop, you're a liar and a poor sport, no one wants to hear it, really. All your posts are about me lately... you really can't take loss at all... Stop derailing the thread, make your own thread in the proper forum if you want to rant and worship me.

First off, I did not tell Realistic to do anything. Second, we played well more than two games...but it doesnt matter you did win one. You used railgun since the first time i fragged you, seeing how you spawned there(well before the 5 minutes mark). You did NOT have ac loaded that day. And yes, I didn't say anything until someone else said something...i don't really care. Someone said you were cheating and I acknowledged it, I'm sorry that it hurts your feelings. Keep up the good cheating, now you have AC up you'll never win  :busted:

How much do you ping on West again? lol....

Also, no one ever said I had a bott'ish rail, this was about my chaingun, hahahah, wow you're dumb...

Please, stop your rant here, make a thread if you want to accuse, flame, troll, ok? Stop derailng this one.

Oh, I'm sorry...they threatened to force it on you then you somehow 'got it to work'.

This thread doesn't have to do with taking demos, it has to do with solutions to cheating...what's the name of this thread?

Yes, once again, I'm so angry out of 5 games that you won 1 of them with a 30 ping(cheating) while i had a 130 ping(not cheating).  Furious. All your blind rails while i was in the water, all your precise 90 degree flick shots, and your dead on chain...man you're so good.

wow, you really are upset, you ping 75 to 80 on the server we played on, it was out of 2 games (one which you just barely won with some crazy walled shots (cheating)). I didn't use rail until the last two minutes of the game I won, only because I took it away from you. Kind of odd that you didn't say anything up until ReaL posted the thread (which he also says you're the one that told him to post it in the first place and he was not accusing me of botting, but because you were trying to get even with me). Fact is, you've been upset ever since you lost and been looking for some way to make me look bad. I've always been able to use AC on my XP computer, which also happens to be the one you got beat with and AC was loaded up as well when it happened. You sir, look stupid now - lol

One way we can prove you're a liar is go to the server right now and take a look at your ping, it'll show you're an angry kid that's full of shit - rofl....

You bumped my ping down 10 and yours up 50, that's awesome ah!   :>

How about you let this thread continue constructively and keep your personal matters to yourself?

Gotta start somewhere. Forcing anticheat on Hal was a step in the right direction.

Anticheat isn't forced on me and what does this have to do with taking demos? Way to be off topic! (Playboy is still mad I owned him 1v1 and snipes constantly like this, kinda cute isn't it, like a little puppy that follows me around barking for a treat)
